The manufacture of uncertainty in the minds of the public, as a ploy on
the part of large corporations, to vitiate or fillet safety regulations relating to their products.

Corporate behemoths have apparently taken a leaf out of the book of the clandestine services' 'black ops', with the deliberate manufacture of a spurious uncertainty, and evidently with no little success.

The regulation of products of large corporations is being stymied by this very deliberate process of questioning with pseudo-science already well-verified scientific studies.

Below is the link to an invaluable overview of the problem, currenty appearing on the CommonDreams.org website:

1. "The Science is still out on that"
Clench whenever you hear those words, because it probably means you're going to get reamed.

I'm amazed at the apparent complacency of otherwise intelligent people, concerning the use of cell-phones and hand-held phones, after a study on rats (which common sense would seem to suggest very strongly leaves scant room for doubt) establishes ground for real concern. A moderator seemed to think it needed peer-reviewing before it could be taken seriously enough to throw them away.
