Bush's Iraq Policy Ranks as Great Success
Editor, Times-Dispatch:

The most amazingly simple-minded statement to explain the Iraq war is: "Bush Lied."

Liberals, please listen up and get your facts straight. The intelligence on Iraq said the country had WMDs. Your beloved President Clinton stated as much in 1998. So to say that we went to war on a lie is less than intelligent.

With respect to the terrorist link to Iraq, where are all the terrorists now? They are in Iraq -- because they know if they lose this battle it will be a crushing blow to them, just as our esteemed Vice President Dick Cheney stated in 2003.

Every country in the world thought Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and the capability to use them. Trusting intelligence is not a lie. My friends on the left need a new mantra, because their old ones cannot rewrite history. Iraq is one of the greatest foreign policy successes in 50 years.

Between Afghanistan and Iraq, the United States has freed more than 50 million people from tyranny. Have we made some mistakes? Sure. But in the end we will succeed in spite of the pessimism of some of our people. God bless America.

John Aaron. Richmond.

 your Monday morning funny
