Syria: Trumping enemies (Seattle PI)

Pity the Bush administration. With its trumped up charges against Iraq in the weeks leading up to the war, its battle to cast Iran as a nation of crazed terrorists has been an uphill battle. Loss of credibility will do that. Now its plan to create another violent enemy in Syria has hit a few bumpy patches ...

.. Assad .. ought to know that this administration never lets facts get in the way of a good ol' propaganda campaign .... International Atomic Energy Agency head, Mohamed ElBaradei, keeps wondering why the U.S. held this "intelligence" regarding the alleged nuclear facilities a secret for so long. He insists on doing things like respecting the terms of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which requires the agency to "verify (the claims and their) veracity and establish the facts." But who needs facts when hyperbole and fiction are so effective?
