McCain Aides Complain That Palin Is Clueless
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/26/report-mccain-aides-compl_n_129618.html

Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless."

On Friday, conservative columnist Kathleen Parker said that after seeing Palin in interviews, she thinks the vice presidential nominee should drop out.

2. McCain's judgement is of course the real issue here...
...and it's embodied in his pick of Palin.

If this whole McCain-Palin thing weren't so sad and pathetic it'd be hilarious.

18. Only the hard core religious right
Her initial boost came from white men who saw her as a hottie. Now she is coming across as a combination of the dumb girl who won't shut up and the crazy lady you don't really want to be involved with, no matter how good looking she is. So that part of her initial support is evaporating. By election day, most guys would be more comfortable sleeping with Joe Biden than Sarah Palin.

6. It could be just pre-debate spin.
Lowering expectations down to zero. If she shows up and breathes she wins the day.

16. I don't think so...
pre-debate spin isn't about calling your side clueless. It's about raising the other's debating experience and ability so high that you can't possibly expect an earnest, knowledgable but still-neophyte at the high art of debating to match it.

They would be trying to make it unfair on experience in debating, not on understanding of the issues.

7. She may as well try to cram-learn French.
Sure, you may learn how to ask where the bathroom is, and you may be able to order truffles off the menu. Hell, you may even able to ask how much something costs. But what you're NOT prepared for is a reply or a question or a statement that's different from the example given in the guide book.

Learning phrases and the possible and even probable responses to those phrases do not make you conversant, be it in a foreign language or in foreign policy.

8. I'm lovin this.
McCain's erudite beltway aides, have finally figured out why it has been so easy to galvanize their base. Because they're all as clueless as Palin.

17. They have to be plotting an exit strategy for the V.P. debate.
Their only hope is for this debate to get cancelled or postponed indefinitely. That's what Johnny-boy was trying to do by derailing tonight's debate. Didn't work. They'll try something else. We'll see if their next attempt is just as lame.

19. I really believe he was hoping to move tonight's debate back 7 days
and thereby eliminate the Palin debate altogether. Why he thought that might work is anybody's guess. The brain of a "maverick" just doesn't work the way most brains work.

20. People are afraid Biden will overplay his hand?
If she is as clueless as she had presented herself thusfar, he will be giving her help in answering the questions! "Don't you mean al queda Governor?" "That would be trus if we were talking about Afghanistan, but this is Pakistan." "I will admit, it is impressive that you can see Russia from Alaska, but I will have to assert that Putin will not go for that Governor."

21. They'd probably like to move it to some Chilean village without
cable so that the rest of us cannot view the horror that is Sarah. Now all of those duped middle-Americans will finally be confronted with the facts-- John McCain's shit stinks more than the nutcase that is polluting the whitehouse.

23. Prediction: Sarah will bow out due to demands of family, governorship
And evil Dick (Cheney) will HAVE to jump in at the last minute as McLame's VP...much as he did for Baby Bush after failing to find him a suitable VP, as was Cheney's job at hand.

will mean an emergency trip home to Alaska - So sorry but family or state comes first, don'tcha know?

Reports of her past actions were enough, to know that.
