Condoleezza's on her way to India this week to, "stand in solidarity with the people of India," the Bush administration declared this weekend.

Solidarity may be the operative word. When it comes to U.S./India relations, the Bush administration says it shares the horror and pain of the attacks on Mumbai that left nearly 200 dead. In fact, it shares a good deal more than that.

Ignoring terror warnings, for one thing. In 2007, a report to Parliament warned the Indian government that the country's shores were open to attack. As U.S. National Security Director, Rice was present August 6, 2001 when the Presidential Daily Briefing was presented to Bush while he vacationed at his ranch: "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US." Condoleeza Rice knows all about ignoring warnings like that.
