Is Rush Limgaugh the de facto leader of the GOP?
The Republicans are playing to their conservative base when it is all the GOP has left. The Limbaugh constituency or the radical right wing of the GOP isn't enough to make Republican electable as we saw in November and it's clear that they have no intention of changing or growing.

2010 is looking really good for Democrats.

1. In 2010 ..
after Obama has shown his powerhouse leadership abilities, someone needs to remember to use some of the Palin footage of the fool crowds hollering, "terrorist" and "he's not an American", etc. Never let the public forget what the option looks like unleashed.

2. the Limbaugh constituency
I don't know why the GOP house decided to turn its back on its own constituents in favor of the Limbaugh constituency but I for one am angry about it.

3. I forsee a Faustian GOP ticket for 2012:
Sarah will sell her soul to the devilimbaugh in exchange for choosing him as her VP candidate.
PALIN/LIMBAUGH 2012 - now that's scary.

9. Since when has the GOP ever valued its constituents?
Other than as a rubes that it could rely on for votes?

5. Yes, and Obama was f--king BRILLIANT to dignify Rush that way.
He elevated one of the Republicans most staunchly psychotic fringe voices to their national stage again, and strapped the entire Republican party to him. And it puts the Repubs in the position of either following Obama's advice, and being attacked from the right, or embracing Limbaugh and continuing their electoral nightmare.

6. Good point
The GOP is between a rock and a hard place. I can't help but think there's no hope for them for at least the next four years.
