Dean is credited for the 50-state strategy he implemented while chairman of the Democratic National Committee to help the party gain seats in Congress and regain the presidency. McCaskill will be the night's keynote speaker. The banquet begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Vermont Democratic Party will host our Tenth Annual David W. Curtis Leadership Awards on Saturday, March 28th, 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton in Burlington. The 2009 Curtis Award will honor Governor Howard Dean and his 50 State Strategy, which revolutionized the Democratic Party and led to victories at every level in states across the country.
This year, we’re excited to welcome special guest speaker Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri. In November of 2006, Senator McCaskill became the first woman elected to the United States Senate from Missouri. She serves on the Armed Services, Commerce, Homeland Security and Government Affairs, Aging, and Indian Affairs committees.
