Lay Off Madonna with the Fake Controversy
Madonna is doing a good thing by adopting, and she also helps the people of Malawi with good works. That doesn’t stop CNN or Save the Children from trying to stir up a fake controversy. Of course, they think they will get ratings and donations, respectively, if they make an issue out of Madonna’s next adoption.

1. bullshit
Rich people buying the poor children of the world is sick and wrong.

She wants to help? Give their families some of your goddamned money.

Wonderful advantages?

The very same argument could be used to defend the importation of slaves into the US. After all, they now have opportunities they would not have had if our ancestors had not kidnapped their ancestors.

This sick evil practice must be stopped. Rich people can not be allowed to buy poor people's children.

5. What families?
You do know that Malawi has the highest number of AIDS orphans in the world, don't you? These children have lost not only their parents, but in many cases their entire extended families - aunts and uncles, grandparents, cousins. And many of those who remain are overwhelmed with the survivors. If you had an income of $20/mo, would you be able to take in six or eight orphans, even if they were related to you?

6. Let the people who are dealing with her on the prospective adoption
figure it out as far as what is better for the child -- a gift of money or adoption by a single parent.

I have no problem with what Madonna wears. It's her money, and I doubt people in Malawi notice the cost of her clothes unless she is wearing diamond brassieres. Sounds like she is a very generous person. I hope the right thing for the child is figured out.

7. You are correct
this is not a controversy, but up to the judgements of the people involved.
