Paul Krugman: Tea Parties Forever
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/13/opinion/13krugman.html?ref=opinion

This is a column about Republicans — and I’m not sure I should even be writing it.

Today’s G.O.P. is, after all, very much a minority party. It retains some limited ability to obstruct the Democrats, but has no ability to make or even significantly shape policy.

Beyond that, Republicans have become embarrassing to watch. And it doesn’t feel right to make fun of crazy people. Better, perhaps, to focus on the real policy debates, which are all among Democrats.

But here’s the thing: the G.O.P. looked as crazy 10 or 15 years ago as it does now. That didn’t stop Republicans from taking control of both Congress and the White House. And they could return to power if the Democrats stumble. So it behooves us to look closely at the state of what is, after all, one of our nation’s two great political parties.

(snip)
So what’s the implication of the fact that Republicans are refusing to grow up, the fact that they are still behaving the same way they did when history seemed to be on their side? I’d say that it’s good for Democrats, at least in the short run — but it’s bad for the country.

2. I We Want Obama's Economic Policies to be Good for the Country
we have to have grass-roots and especially CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS calling out Geithner, Bernanke, Summers, et al.

Thinking that the GOP could be a useful tool for stopping the giveaway madness is not only silly, it's dangerous.

I'm putting my money on Howard Dean. Now There's a leader!

3. Damn straight
I do have faith that Obama will listen to our voices, but only if we make them heard very clearly and loudly.
I trust Obama to have the best of intentions. I do not trust him to remember who got him elected as the voices of power and wealth bend his ear, as they do with every top exec.

4. There is something wrong with a political party that orchestrates fake

grass roots protests and calls them tea-bagging; while choosing to bow down to a hate talk radio host by the name of Rush Limpballs. (And don't forget the 129 visits to the White House by male prostitute, Jeff Gannon, during the bush and dick administration.)

They seem to be focused entirely too much on one part of the male anatomy. Is it lust or envy?
