We Are All Susan Boyle
Last week, a dowdy, unemployed 47 year old spinster from Great Britain rocked the world with a performance on the British equivalent of American Idol. In doing so, she redefined the word beauty, and opened untold doors for many of we aging frumpsters.

2. Here's her challenger
http://tinyurl.com/cflhzq They were setting up a battle of the generations. Question remains who will win. It's rigged, of course.

4. They must not think school issues would be a problem, or why let children
in the competition.

I've listened to him, though, and while he's technically very good, his performance doesn't come close to hers.

7. Because its a talent competition
there are no upper or lower age limits. I agree he's not as good as Susan who quite amazes me.

11. That's the same as and was based on
our X Factor etc which also has a lower limit of 16 but no real upper limit though here. What I meant was that Brtiain's Got talent is a general talent show with no upper or lower age limits.

6. You're forgetting that little blonde kid who came in second to Paul Potts.
She got a singing contract and cut a record. It's not age that will shoot down the kid from Wales, it's talent. He's only "OK"--good for a kid, but not as good as Boyle is.

5. Your link goes to a HUFFPO article about Stephen Colbert.
If you're talking about that young boy from Wales, though, he's only "OK." He'll be about the same competition as the little blonde girl singing OVER THE RAINBOW was to Paul Potts.

That kid will get a contract for coming in second, if he doesn't hose it up too badly at the semi-finals. Just like the little girl did.

The only way Susan Boyle can lose is if she fucks up and gets nervous and behaves immaturely. I don't think she'll do that, though. She's gotten enough confidence with her first outing and the reaction to it. I think she'll be focused and do well at the semis, and win the finals.

The one that cracked me up was Fabia Cerra, actually, with her digitized boobies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFQS9Fci4SY

13. The Greek Da and Son team "Stavros Flatley" were funny as hell too.
Especially if you appreciate the pompousness of Michael Flatley.

They did a comedic routine (body fat and all) of Riverdance--it was a gutbuster, it was so funny.

14. Sorry. Didn't do a thing for me.
So your claim that she "rocked the world" is false.
Later on this week she will have been as forgotten as William Hung.
