With all the news lately about "torture" and who is responsible for the memos written to cover the prior administration legally, one figure Judge Bybee seems to be taking all the heat from the press and media outlets.
During his confirmation hearings, he declined to answer several questions regarding this issue due to "not being able to talk about certain things regarding National Security".
Congress has during the Bush years heard this many times from those in power during hearings. They also heard quite a few remarks from those in office that they could not remember (Gonzalez), or flat out lied(Gonzalez).
It is time for Congress to adopt a rule that if questions are not answered, those under investigation are to be immediately removed from power, those that are seeking an appointment that needs congressional approval are immediately disqualified. And those that refuse to answer must be judged on the idea that they are complicit in whatever the concern is.
Enough of the bullshit already. Republicans must take responsibility for the way they fucked up this country and get out of the way so that we can repair it.
There is no need for any media outlet to give credence to anyone that is clearly full of shit.
Government needs to put in more regulation(and I am very much against regulation) to stop this growing hate that seems to be organized by the likes of Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Steele, Cantor, Bohner, Beck and several others that are inciting a fringe of our society that is willing to use their loss of power and turn it into real hate.
If they are allowed to continue, we may find ourselves in an extremely violent era that may have to be brought under control by our over-extended military.
I think the time is right to bring all those Bushies into the court system, confront them about lying, torture, deceit, and the raping of our country for their own personal reasons. They need to be brought to justice, and our country needs them to be. No one should be ommitted from investigations or prosecutions.
