Experts Say Panic Over Swine Flu Is Premature, Mexicans Ready to Come Back after Winter Vacation
Experts Say Panic Over Swine Flu Is Premature, Mexicans Ready to Come Back after Winter Vacation in Home Land

Looming large among the unknowns: Why is the virus causing more severe illness in Mexico than in the United States? Why have the only deaths reported been in Mexico? Why is mortality concentrated among young, healthy adults? Will the swine flu acquire more lethality as time goes on? And will the virus have a seasonality to it, like the "regular" flu?

http://www.forbes.com/feeds/hscout/2009/04/28/hscout626500.html

I had the Flu over the winter, Doc gave me some antibiotics before my cough turned into pneumonia and in a coupled days I was feeling much better.

Now the same symptoms in Mexico could kill you, Why? because people don’t go to the doctor soon enough and live with 10-15 people in one house so it spreads fast.

Mexicans Ready to Come Back after Winter Vacation in Home Land

Millions of Mexicans will be traveling back to the US for jobs after spending all the money they made last year in the US. Now broke and in need of a job they will be traveling back to the jobs Americans don’t want to do, like construction, mechanics, tree trimmers, truck drivers, restaurant workers, hospital help……… Etc.

1. Mexicans have doctors all over the place. In fact trhe pharmacy on the corner
is where you would get your bacterial antibiotics (for bacterial pneumonia, not flu virus) if you were sick, so you wouldn't even need to see a doctor, just the guy down the street in his store.

So I believe, having spent a couple of years of my life in Mexico, that your conclusion is probably wrong, but certainly premature. It's what white people who have never been to Mexico outside the tourist zones would assume though.

How will all those workers travel here if they are dead since they don't have doctors or medication like white Americans do?

7. Going to the pharmacy on the corner may get needed treatment, or not.
And many others use folk remedies or simply cannot afford any remedy.

8. It's free Administered by the Secretaria de Seguridad Social. People use folk
remedies probably about as much as they do here, which often works great depending on what ails you. Antibiotics are everywhere and very very cheap. Why do you suppose Americans used to go to Mexico to buy their meds before bush and Baucus outlawed it with the medicare prescription drug bill? Many people go to Mexico from the US for all sorts of medical procedures. Far far more affordable.

Mexico has scientists, doctors, and schools.

You knew that they invented the birth control pill, right?

3. Fishing in Mexico
I was Fishing at Lake Guerrero Mexico, a Mexican fishing guide had a terrible looking infection I asked him what happened, he said he cut himself a month ago. Why didn’t he go to the doc and get some antibiotics, answer was they didn’t have any.

5. I knew an American who died from a treatable disease. So that's how I know
Americans don't have doctors or medication.

Oh, I read what you said about a doctor giving you an antibiotic for a possible bacterial secondary infection to the flu virus. But I only look at that one fact I just wrote. Why dig any deeper before forming a conclusion that I then go post to a website as if it were fact?

Isn't that what everybody does?

Republicans are for immigration so are democrats, its a game they play, good guy, bad guy cop. From 2000-2006 not one person was arrested for Social Security Fraud with a hundred people on one SS number.

Remember they just do jobs Americans don’t want to do, that was Republicans. Both Rep. Dem. Rich, Powerful Politicians and Corporations want cheap labor, Its no longer left or right and not about the patriotism of are country its about Money, Power and Greed and the new world order.

You think they give a dam if you have a job? If they can sell around the world by using cheap Chinese labor and make more profits then its screw you.

6. Do you have a link to your "winter vacation" claim? Thanks
I'm opposed to social security numbers being used by the gobernment for anything except social security collections and distribution

The New World Order loves to get the government involved with using SS numbers as a multi tracking device. No! I'm opposed to that.

I also think that patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings. But that's just my opinion.

If I had my way, I'd tear down every border in every country of the world. Some folks disagree, I know.

9. Does that mean 'experts' think there is a time when panic is appropriate?
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 04:19 PM by muriel_volestrangler
In fact, the one expert quoted in the article as using the word 'panic' says it's 'undue'. The headline writer has got carried away, and implied that more than one expert thinks there could be a point in the future at which the right thing to do is panic. I doubt any export thinks panic will ever be a good thing.
