Once again, a dead-on assessment
D. Alan Kerr, a columnist in a local newspaper that I otherwise consider to be a piece of crap, consistently puts an intelligent and insightful face on the news of the world. This week's submission is a continuation of his brilliance.

Enjoy!

2. Thanks! Good article.
"D. Allan Kerr sometimes feels frustrated that what seems obvious to him remains unseen by so many others. Kerr may be contacted at ..."

I know the feeling. Good article.

4. He calls Powell an "island of integrity."
I have a problem finding brilliance here.

It doesn't seem to occur to him that a master plan is not necessarily a brilliant one.

The BushCo plan was and is based on a painfully inaccurate world view. (Caligula's world view, if I'm not mistaken.) That's why nothing is going according to plan.

Kerr, poor baby, believes "We invaded Iraq because we were convinced we would find weapons of mass destruction and hoped for a bonus of a 9/11 connection. That's it, plain and simple."

I hope to god someone is holding his hand when he crosses the street.

7. Powell is an island of integrity when compared to the other minions
I didn't read Kerr's comment as overt praise for Powell. What he's noting is that Powell has at least admitted the inaccuracy of his previous statements. He's also bemoaning the fact that you won't see such an admission from anyone else in the White House. Doesn't this fact set him apart from others in the administration? Speaking metaphorically, isn't this an acceptable basis for referring to him as an "island" (isolated, distant from others)?

I would also note that Kerr is worthy of praise on his own, because he refuses to trumpet the "liberation of the Iraqi people" nonsense that we hear from virtually everyone else in the media. In my eyes, this makes him an island of integrity in a sea of media mediocrity.

Like Kerr, I am frustrated that what otherwise seems obvious remains a mystery to some.

9. Colon Powell
If Colon had any integrity he would have refused to go
to the UN with the pack of lies. He would have resigned
before disgracing himself. He didn't. He has no credibilty
nor integrity!

10. he makes some good points, but misses some as well...
for him to claim that there is no 'master' plan, simply means he hasn't visited PNAC's website. There is a master plan under execution, albeit poorly developed and ill-conceived.

But I am glad to see people speaking out against Bush, even if they don't get all their points right. :-)
