Cheney's new book: 'I'm right, you're wrong' (Abouhalkah | Kansas City Star)
By Yael T. Abouhalkah, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist

... Do I smell money in the air?

As expected, Cheney is now seeking to sign a lucrative book deal to tell all to the American people -- you know, the people he used to hide information from when he was vice president.

Cheney could get millions of dollars to give his side of what happened during the presidency of George Bush, especially regarding post-9/11 policies ...

So the book deal is one more reason Cheney has kept such a high profile in recent months. In part, he's trying to nudge up his dismal approval ratings so more people might be interested in buying his book ...

14. After all, she has a degree in... wait for it... journalism...
and a ghost writer to do her "biography".

The irony is so thick you could cut it with a dull knife.

5. But "some of his friends" have said that he doesn't need
the two million advance. So, doesn't that mean someone offered one? I guess it could be caca.

:)

7. From NYT yesterday? Who knows what that means. Maybe it's part of the sales pitch: "Poor
misunderstood man really really wants to tell his side of the story -- if you can cough up $2 million. But he's not desperate. He's sure somebody can come up with the cash"

Cheney Seeks Book Deal on Bush Years and More

... A person familiar with discussions Mr. Cheney has had with publishers said he was seeking more than $2 million for his advance. That sum may prove hard to get in this economic climate, especially given his generally low approval ratings, which publishers view as a potential — but not certain — harbinger for sales ... Mr. Cheney’s friends say he does not need the money ... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/23/us/politics/23cheney.html?ref=us

15. All the Haliburton kickbacks he got/gets?
He doesn't need the money. I just wonder why he hasn't yet moved to Dubai. And if he croaks before the book is done.

12. Motivated vocalization.....
you had to know he wasn't speaking out because he was truly concerned for the country....now a $2 million dollar book deal, I can believe might motivate him to speak out.
