Jon Stewart Gives Up
* Stewart concludes this was the kind of day in politics you need an ice cream sundae and a bottle of vodka to go with it. I agree with him.

August 5, 11:30 AM, 2010

By Ken Silverstein

And with good reason. Which side is worse? The Republicans who voted against a bill providing health care for 9/11 first responders? Or the Democrats who used a legislative trick so they wouldn’t have to approve it?

You decide. Video here: http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/wed-august-4-2010-bruce-henderson

1. I am so angry after seeing this. And how the fuck is our media incapable of explaining this
the same way Jon Stewert did.

Stewert, who's show airs at midnight on comedy central explained this issue in under 5 minutes than any 24/7 media outlet has done. How is that even remotely possible?

2. MSM has no invested interest in telling their viewers imo. Similar to so
many other subjects they either ignore, waterdown, frame as "liberal" vs conservative"...you know the score. Sad, isn't it?

5. This story epitomizes the corruption that's so rampant in Washington.
Should the MSM actually begin reporting on such stories they would be simultaneously abandoning their own corruption.

8. In Fairness...
....the dems set the pubbies up so they could vote against this help.
And they did. The vote will come up again, later, and it will pass.

So, keep in mind that the pubbies voted against the 9/11 responders.

And spread this message: Pubbies vote against the little guys while protecting the Big People from paying their fair share.

9. That's whack. The Dems required a 2/3 majority for passage because they...
didn't want to be burdened with having to vote against an amendment to the bill which would have denied any health care to first respondent heroes who didn't have the proper visa.

Like Stewart's proposed political ad stated, the Republicans are fucking assholes and the Democrats and fucking pussies.
