Job creation trumps deficit reduction in poll (64% to 30%) - July 22
Republicans keep repeating (so people will know what they think) that people are worried about the deficit. But according to this Quinnipiac Univ poll (conducted July 13 - 19) people are much more concerned about job creation than the deficit.

This is a poll number you won't hear anybody in the corporate M$M mention. OF course not, they rely on the GOP for their view of reality.

NEW YORK | Thu Jul 22, 2010 2:16pm EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - American voters overwhelmingly say lowering unemployment is more important than reducing the federal budget deficit, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Thursday.

The poll, conducted July 13-19, showed that 64 percent of respondents thought reducing the jobless rate should be a bigger priority versus 30 percent who favored focusing on cutting the budget deficit.

A majority of Republicans -- 58 percent to 38 percent -- also said reducing unemployment was more important, the poll said. Republicans have accused President Barack Obama's administration of expanding the deficit through overspending.

3. Was that to come after the stimulus which added 2.7 Mil jobs to U.S. payrolls? - (Zandi & Blinder)
How the Great Recession Was Brought to an End - M. Zandi, A. Blinder

"Because of the fiscal stimulus, real GDP is about $460 billion (more than 6%) higher by 2010, when the impacts are at their maximum; there are 2.7 million more jobs; and the unemployment rate is almost 1.5 percentage points lower."

Of course, that was the stimulus after downsizing by one third, to meet Republican demands for tax cuts (as a price for their cooperation).
