Enthusiasm in, Gap out!
by blackwaterdog
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/10/16/910117/-Enthusiasm-in,-Gap-out!

Let's see:

26,000 people at the rally in Wisconsin. 18,000 in Philadelphia. Full house in Wilmington yesterday. Today in Boston, much more than just a full house of 10,000 people in what AP described as "energetic rally". AP!, or maybe they were actually even more, at least according to Deval Patrick’s campaign:

15,000 to 16,000 people came to the rally, with those not able to get into the convention hall watching on video feeds.

Tomorrow the Obamas will make a joint appearance at OSU. OFA made 1 million calls today alone! wealthy Democrats wakes up and let's not forget Bill Clinton, bringing thousands to everywhere he goes.

Polls shmolls, most of the Republicans enthusiasm "advantage" is manufactured by their dirty anonymous donors, and corrupt MSM (CNN today showed only some parts of president Obama campaigning for Deval Patrick, but showed the entire gibberish from that half term "DO YOU LOVE YOUR FREEDOMMMMMM?" empty-head). It's one big conspiracy.

With all due respect to Nate's models, there's only one model that counts: November 2nd. If we vote, we'll kick their collective ignorant ass. If not, well, we can kick only ourselves. Don't listen to me, listen to Howard Dean:

...I do think we're going to hold the House and the Senate. I'm one of a dwindling minority of people in Washington, but we always know that Washington often gets it wrong. Usually gets it wrong. Because I think at the end of the day the enthusiasm gap is dissipating.

The president's out there talking all the time about the differences between the parties. He's essentially done what he had to do, which is make this election a choice, not a referendum. If it's a choice, the Democrats are going to do OK.

Here's president Obama, today in Boston. Some people may see the gap, i see the enthusiasm. (All these by AP).

1. K&R you know I don't remember the media predicting
all this gloom for the GOP in 2006 and 2008 when they got beat so badly. This is bullshit. DON'T FALL FOR IT.

3. I've even found my enthusiasm
Trust me, after the amount of betrayal and out and out shock I've felt in the last two years, for me to find my enthusiasm means there ain't no enthusiasm gap. Those silly talking bobble heads on TV just want to make this into a Nancy Kerrigan/Tanya Harding cat fight. They try to create reality for us and luckily, we have another medium now and we can just walk around the bubble headed idiots and create a completely different reality.

I'm going to enjoy some schadenfreude in a couple of weeks. I never, ever watched the Morning Joe (dead intern) Show but I might make an exception come Nov 3rd.

7. Forget Morning Joe
Come Nov 3 I am going to have my TV on Fox. It will be so sweet watching them cry and try to make sense out of what just happened. At this point I am literally more motivated to vote so I can see the establishment media lose their shit than I am about preserving democratic majorities.

10. Here's a really good email that's circulating in the black community
Edited on Tue Oct-19-10 09:34 PM by oswaldactedalone
encouraging people to vote. An African-American friend sent this to me. Feel free to copy and paste it into an email to widen the circulation. There is definitely some enthusiasm in the black community to vote Democratic. Hopefully, it will be enough.

----

WE MUST VOTE ON NOVEMBER 2nd AS IF OUR LIVES DEPEND UPON IT, BECAUSE THEY DO! The Republican party has embraced dangerous radicals called the "Tea Party." They are led by Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and the owners and broadcasters of Republican supporting media outlets, whose chief goal is to take down President Obama. They also want to end government assistance programs that benefit everyone, including minority groups. These Tea Party supporters, and Republicans in general, have deep-seated prejudices against blacks, latinos, and other minority groups. More than anything, they despise President Obama and want desperately for him to fail as our President. If our President fails, then we all fail.

Their rallying cry? "We want to take our country back!" Take it back from who and to when? The 1940s or 50s? American soil remains stained with the blood of our African-American brothers and sisters who protested and fought for our right to vote. Some even died in their pursuit of this basic civil right.

The polls say Republicans have an excellent chance of winning enough seats to take over the U. S. House of Representatives, The U. S. Senate, and many Governorships and State Legislatures because Democrats lack the enthusiasm to vote. WE MUST GET AS MANY, AND MORE, PEOPLE TO THE POLLS AS WE DID DURING THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

While we encourage voter enthusiasm, most importantly, we need you to vote. President Obama and Democrats have tried to undo the chaos created by our previous President, but Republicans have fought him every step of the way. We also have to be concerned that the radical right-wing Tea Party might try to take our country back to a time that was very difficult for minorities. There is concern that the number of hate groups is increasing, and these hate groups are largely composed of people who openly support Republican Tea Party candidates. Are you willing to gamble on losing the Democratic leadership that is trying to make the country better for everyone, and not just the super-rich? We cannot let our leadership change or we could lose that gamble.

Don't leave voting to the other guy. Be sure to vote, and vote a straight Democratic ticket for your U. S. Senator, Congressman, Governor, and Democrats down the ballot. Like African drums calling out across America, reach as many people as you can!

Don't break this chain message or we may find ourselves chained as second class citizens again.

VOTE NOVEMBER 2nd, or before, if early voting is available in your area.

Please forward this email to 15 or more people and keep it moving!

12. Something to remember;
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

Pukes and Baggers got off to a "fast start" but this is an endurance race and it seems Pres. Obama knows this and has paced himself accordingly.
Let's go kick some Repuke butt! VOTE!
