College kids "taking back the media"
This site www.right-wingattackmachine.com, when it started claimed to be a voice for young people opinions. Since then its ran nothing but liberal bashing and preaching.

Now, they are setting up an anti-Michael Moore party. The website says it will be, "hosting an impromptu gathering before going and seeing propagandist Michael Moore’s new movie “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

What is happening on College campuses these days.

5. dude
Why are you even on this site when your postings make it clear that you are hostile to the fundamental beliefs held by the Democratic party?

9. umm...
All sorts of "activities" are "happening" - the points are whether the activities are "happening" as the norm or as the outlier and whether one wishes to cheer about or frown upon their "happening."

Your hand is totally shown with your statement "challenging entrenched wrong ideas." The point by point follow up from your original message clearly associates that comment with the comment that "kids are challenging their professors when the professor give one sided political commentary as 'education'." Seeing as this is a talking point of Fox News/Rush Limbaugh inductees it is clear that your values are fundamentally different than the spirit intended by the creators of this board.

12. Hey I do all those...
and I'm a liberal Democrat. :dem:
The points that you make are not exclusive to one political point of view as you infer.

Education is an area Democrats support more than Republicans and the public generally give Democrats higher ranking on the issue. Republicans seek to stifle education by privatizing it and eventually turning it into an unregulated market where the lower class gets the cheapest education.

I've seen one sided political commentary from right wing professors and I've challenged them. While there are professors that do exhibit a political bias and preach it in a classroom, IMHO, they are in the minority. Much of what y'all refer to as "one sided political commentary" are professors challenging students to look at other sides of an issue. It's called developing critical thinking skills and is something that the US educational system used to excel at until the Repubs started turning education into a memorize and regurgitate format. Critical thinking skills lead to innovative ideas which is something the US used to lead in and still can if we turn from the current direction.

Many Democrats pray and attend Church too. We just don't believe in converting our secular government into a theocracy. The Repubs insistence that Creationism be taught in schools is a case in point. IMHO, religion and philosophy are the opposite sides of the coin from science. Science answers concrete questions on how an event occurs, religion and philosophy answers the "whys" that are not testable under science. Questions such as "What is the meaning of life?" are testable from a philosophical point of view and not scientific. Therefore science and religion complement each other but should not be combined.

Some kids are getting an holding jobs. The unemployment rate among the recent college and high school grads is one of the highest in recent years. Entry level jobs at decent wages are hard to find. You can thank the Bush economy for that.

Of course Democrats support the military and its members. We support them more because we don't believe they should be put at unnecessary risks such as sending them to Iraq for a war fought for unclear reasons other than Bush's ego. We also support veteran's benefits at a time when Repubs are playing politics with them.

This is why Kerry has the majority of support among young people while Bush is losing support so I'd definitely say that young people in college are waking up.

10. "taking back the media"?
Whew dropping some oxycontin today? Take back the media from whom? This is classic Nazis-style propaganda-this belief that the media is liberal. There is no proof of this and in fact the media is owned by right-wing financiers for example Murdock-our country is owned by the corporations who have their personal whores in the GOP. What is liberal or even Democratic leaning (in the best sense of both words-sarcasm on)on TV ? what is the equivalent of Scarface country on MS NBC-anything? How about Tweety-his brother is a big elected republican in Pennsylvania? MS GOP is right wing, Fox is right-wing-CNN-I will give you CNN about a decade ago!-It is right-wing now-Judy Windruff and Wolfie are right leaning-NBC-ABC-CBS-you come away thinking they are liberal why? Talk radio? all of talk radio is now owned by clear channel which has a clear channel to the white house-fairness doctrine death is a classic example of right-wing propaganda machine destroying this country. So you thesis rests on what- the print media? Please- as a country we don't read papers -we watch TV thats why there are so few papers. GEE-I guess our kids can support the military by going to Iraq rather than seeing Moore's movie and they can learn from the military how thinking will get one fired-General Shenski learned that correct and precise military planning, if it gets in the way of a right-winger will not be tolerated-Great Iraq war plan GOP!

13. What happened in Nazi Germany College Campuses in the 30s
Read some history. You will find the Nazi Period (along with Imperial Roman History 44BC-50AD) QUITE instructional and explanatory to our current situation.
