The House Ways and Means Committee approved a bill on Thursday that uses the tax code to limit access to abortions in the US. As we've reported, the language in the bill extends the ban on federal funding for abortion to the tax code, blocking tax credits from being used for insurance plans that cover abortion services and forbidding tax deductions for the costs of an abortion.

The proposed law would not apply to abortions in cases of rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is at risk. It passed on a straight party line vote on Thursday afternoon.

Republicans say they're just bringing consistency to federal policies. The bill will "make sure that the destruction of an innocent human life is not subsidized by this government," says Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas). But Democrats and abortion rights advocates argue that the bill would significantly limit the availability of abortions in this country.

The measure, HR 1232, is similar to the language on the tax code included in HR 3, the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," and would likely be incorporated into that bill should it go to the House floor. HR 1232 does clean up some of HR 3's notoriously vague legislative language, but the bills are similar in many respects.

Some year ago, I saw a movie, who I don't remember the name of, but where it was illegal for anyone in the US, to take a abort legally.. If someone wanted to have a abort, or needed a abort, for one reason or another they had to leave the US, for Europe, where the legal law about abort still was relative liberal compared to US... In the movie, when the girl and her mother was coming back to US, they was detained, and had to be interrogated about what they did, and why they did it.. I was not exactly following it closely, as it was a easter where I was bored as hell about what was about on the TV.. And I glimpsed about it as I was looking for something to se.... But I do remember this movie for a reason or another...

It was set to 2020 or something like that, and US was ruled by a semi-theocratic government, who had banned the use of anything that could stop an child for beeing born, even if it was a girl under age of 16, who had been raped... At that time I would never seriousy belive that US could be anyone near this future, as I belived most americans to be educated, and to know better than to know nutcases take power.. In fact I belive this to be pre-Bush ages... So it is like a decade or so away...

Today im not that sure, in fact I fear that the extremist, and the fudenmentalist maybe have taken to mutch power as it is.. And is able to tople your laws when it came to abortion and so one.. In fact I fear the extreme right more in US, than I fear mr Gadaffi in Libya, or the iranian government in Teheran for the moment.. The extrem right in US is ABLE and WILLING to go true what they are talking about.. And have been showing this many, many times over the last couple of decades...

For me, who are not native to US, it is scaring to se how US seen to have falled down fram what I belived US to be, to the "shithole" the US is today.. Most of US is no doubt decent, kind americans.. But you have far more in common with the theocrats in Therean and other islamic county' than you might belive.. The right in US, are just the opposite view of the same picture, and want the same rule.. But wil use GOOD instead of Allah to exsuse their wrongdoings who withouth doubt wil HARM ten of thousands of americans if they ever got into real power.. You missed the bulled with mr Bush, he managed to destroy lot the standing of US in the face of the world.. Another clone of Bush, wil more than posible destroy the rest of the standing US might have in the face of the world..

Its worse than anyone belive Im afraid about.. And it is also so sad to se how a great country, who I allways have admired and trusted have fallen pray for the deepest most evil groups human kind can produce.. The extremist, that be on the left or the right is a danger to anyone.. And if anyone BELIVE they wil survive, if they just stick they head in the sand, and is quit to better time.. They are wrong, wrong so verry wrong.. The last 100 year, have experienced a lot of this, and it hav allways ended in missery for the large population at large..
Its so sad.. So horrible sad to se how the great US is fallen... And Im afraid, this is not the end of it, before it goes better.. I for one would not be suprised a lot, if US again wote for the dumbest, most stupid, and most extreme public figure they are able to vote into office in 2012.. You managed to "do it" in 2000 and 2004.. You can do it again, thanks to the mashine of the right, and your higest court who was given a green light for the money to be spend to the biggest bidder...

I know a few "sience fiction" movies, who are set to a "future" US.. For the most part I enjoy the movies, even tho I know it was just that movies.. But Im not sure about it anymore.. It looks like the past movies, are coming home to roost, as the extreme right absolutely have been following up on what was in this movies... And they belive they be able to do it..

I feat the worst. Even tho I still hope for the best...
