Fox Drops a Demagogue
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/konrad-yakabuski/fox-drops-a-demagogue/article1974164/

(from the Globe & Mail's Chief US Politcal Writer)

Glenn Beck began his Fox News show the same week Barack Obama started his White House gig. In the ensuing months, the TV host spun his right-wing monologues into a ratings juggernaut, while the President’s approval ratings slumped so low he risked cancellation by the voters.

One of the above has vastly improved odds of being renewed for another season. As for the other, the clock is fast ticking on his 15 minutes.

Fox’s announcement that Mr. Beck will end his weekday show this year signals more than the parting of the top U.S. cable news network and its most notorious property. It underscores a shift in the national mood.

In short, Americans just aren’t that angry any more.

2. "Americans just aren’t that angry any more." bullshit.
The truth is between the heat on the advertisers and Jon Stewart's running schtick of poking fun at Beck, Beck was forced out.
Yes, a definite shift in the American mood, but WE worked to get him out.
WE were angry about his outrageous blathering.

Now, on to Limp Balls, eh?

3. Maybe they just want to hear the news
when they turn on the news.

I have to say, I grew up on just the regular ABC, CBS and NBC news back in the 70's, every evening after dinner with my family. I got used to hearing what was going on in the world and unbiased accounts that gave some background without telling you what to think. I never developed any tolerance for "opinion pieces" on the news, whether I agreed with their notions or not.

4. Yeah, where did the news go?
Democracy Now, has news, but focuses on a couple of pieces at a time.
Still, we need Amy.

Fortunately, there is a lot of news available from all over the world, ( thus minus the USA filter) online,
and fortunately it is minus annoying commercials.

5. They know Beck further erodes
their credibility.

Listen, they have some big time misinformation to push off onto the American people. They want this Ryan proposal to be considered seriously. They want their presidential candidates to be taken seriously. The Beck model no longer fits into their scheme. They must begin to appear "reasonable".

6.  Will the Wolf be leaving CNN for the Fox?
Maybe Sarah and one of her brats.
