GOP Will Find Socialist Tendencies in Tea Party Hard to Overcome
Yahoo!

Two examples of successful, popular government benefits designed on the socialist template are Medicaid and Medicare. Yahoo! News reports "Seventy percent of self-identified tea partiers oppose cuts to Medicaid and Medicare as a way to help repair the federal budget, according to a McClatchy-Marist poll released this week."

Here is an interesting contradiction inside the Tea Party and a hard political reality for the GOP as it tries to meet the proclaimed goal of eliminating government entitlements.

The result of this poll, as well as the fact that the government is funded by tax payers' money (taxes which honest working people have paid for decades in their lifetime), are proving to be a darkening, hovering obstacle for the GOP and its backers.

2. Most tea party nutbags live in rural areas in mostly rural states.
And in the states they reside, the government regulates the price of electricity (which helps them afford air conditioning) and the cost of a driver’s license and car insurance (which helps them be able live in the middle of nowhere and to drive). Mention that to a teabagger and watch them stutter. Better yet, tell them outright how much it would cost to cool their home and drive their behemoth if power lines and highways were totally privatized.

It’s convenient for them to complain until they find out that regulation actually benefits them.

4. I'll bet you right now
they'll vote against their own best interests like they have done for years. They always do it and I don't see them changing now. It's programmed into them.

6. Well it didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that. I myself wondered when these people were
going to wake up. It's about time. I hope they finally realize that the republicans have no interest in them and never did.

8. It was just a matter of time till they realized exactly what they were shouting for
At the next tea rally:

The speaker says, "We want lower taxes." The Tea Party crowd yells "Yeah."

The speaker says, "The government shouldn't take away money from those who work hard." The Tea Party crowd yells "Yeah."

The speaker says, "By that I mean the rich people -- you seniors, poor and middle class can go F**K yourselves." The Tea Party crowd says "Huh?"

The speaker says, "We want to do away with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and all programs that benefit you and not the rich!" The Tea Party crowd yells "F**k you buddy, I'm outta here!"
