USA TODAY reporter resigns

USA TODAY reporter Jack Kelley, a 21-year veteran of the newspaper, has resigned. His resignation followed a newspaper investigation into the accuracy of his stories. The newspaper has no plans to retract or correct any of his stories at this time, said Editor Karen Jurgensen. She said Kelley "elected to resign" Tuesday, but she could not as a matter of policy discuss details of the investigation or his resignation, which she called "a personnel matter."

Kelley covered the Middle East, the Iraq war and numerous trouble spots. He was a finalist in 2002 for a Pulitzer Prize in foreign reporting.

1. It's refreshing
that at least one member of the media isn't a lying whore and that he's unwilling to sell his principles or soul to the Darkside.

It seems like more and more people are starting to abandon Bush's ship.....it ought to be an interesting year.

5. You're right, Stephanie.
It's really about a supposedly professional journalist, making what sounds like a really bad split-second decision about how he would cover his ass because a source got cold feet. As regards Bu$h, unless the guy has been doing hard-hitting investigative pieces on the Admini$tration and was set up, it's a non-story.
