1. "Army of God"
I think. It is a mostly Lebanese Islamist group, supported by Syria.

26. Ignorant? How so?
I suppose the women and children in Iraq who had their arms and legs blown off because of US bombing would feel terrorized. YMMV, of course.

And what about that guy Boykin who said "My d***" er...I mean, "My god is bigger than your god." Also others, including the chimp-in-chief, always using god to excuse our atrocities.

38. The military
The military is obligated to defend the U.S. A case had been made that Iraq was a threat and BOTH PARTIES agreed. The military does their job and does it quite well.

If you have complaints, address them to D.C. To compare them to Hezbollah is beyond insulting.

Hint: it has nothing to do with strategic objectives like eliminating munitions plants and other supllies...

33. I do know that...
During the Israli blockades of the occupied territories, Hezb Allah does get food and medicines into where the people who need it are. For that they have a favorable face among the palistinians.

37. nah, they've gone totally mainstream now

Their military activity is limited to border defense. Yesterday they got an enemy soldier shooting across the border at them and they blew up a bulldozer. So the hostile entity went into a third country and blew up a mosque and a bunch of houses with people in them...

19. They are an extremist political group in Israel
Funded by Iran, and Israel actually allowed them to come into being some time ago, in the hopes that they would provide a legitimate political outlet for the PLO, which at the time was a terrorist group. Unfortunately, the extremists took over Hezbollah, and things just got worse.

Of course if Israel didn't insist on treating the Palestinians like second-class mongrel citizens, none of this would be necessary, but I digress...

23. i think you have them confused with Hamas
Hizballah came into being as a response to the Israeli occupation of Lebanon in the '80s. They were the only group that could fight back against the Israelis and forced Israel to eventually withdraw. Syria and Iran gave them support during that war.

They offer moral support to the Palestinians but aren't actively involved in that fight.

29. They're a terrorist group
But they're are very powerful and respected in Lebanon. Hizbollah really brings to mind the adage that one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter. Hizbollah operates hospitals, schools and has members serving in the Lebanese legislator. They're pledged to destroy Israel but they haven't been launching attacks in Israel in recent years. Just lobbing a few missiles and shooting some settlers every now and then but no suicide bombers and what not. Most of the attacks in Israel are coming from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.
