1. What makes you think...
He's gay, Andy? I mean, I have heard the rumors. I put them to two of my best friends, a gay couple. They kinda got this look on their faces like someone farted, then started laughing. They didn't buy it a bit.

2. He has carried on with Victor Ashe
Since they were cheerleading roomies together at yale. George and Laura introduced Victor to his *ahem* lovely wife who he married at 42. Look through the news...George and Victor are together at least once a month.

9. Since W took office
He has probably traveled to Knoxville, TN more than any other place in the US (beside Crawfard and Camp David). Considering how many times he's been to NYC, for some reason Knoxville is much more important?

I don't care who is or is not gay or anything else, but the fundie bible thumpers and many conservatives in general DO care. SO if he is I hope he gets outed before the election and I will laugh all the way to the ballot box as their Great Leader is torn down.

7. But the laws he wants to pass will never effect him, because
the Bush family is a law unto itself. Remember Poppy's "Just say no" anti-drug campaign? The truth: he masterminded the crack cocaine explosion to fund the Contras, and his complicity in the CIA's protected drug trade spans decades.

And there are those ugly stories of Poppy's taste for adolescents, and his association with Nebraska's Larry King, and Craig Spence's call boy ring.

The Bush family's hypocricy is boundless. Nothing would surprise me about them. Well, maybe only this: if they came to know themselves, demonstrated empathy and self-knowledge, and found a healthy expression for their desires.

"You got a pretty face" - Was that reported in the US press?

"Lump in the bed" - That's some term of endearment for a wife.

8. Andy...
...I know you want to out Bush*, but there isn't much proof out there about this.

You are running for public office, my friend, by saying stuff like this, you are only hurting your chances. There needs to be actual proof that Bush* has been carrying on this way.

If the guy is gay, then yes, I want him outed for his hypocricy. But I don't want him being gay to be used as a weapon against him.

You know yourself, Andy, us queers face enough hardship in life without having homosexuality used as a tool against someone to simply destroy them. Doing that is basically doing the same thing Bush* did in his SoTU, when he brought up about the FMA. I don't know about you darlin', but I am sick of being a second class citizen in this world. We need to stand up and say; "NO! It isn't alright to use homoexuality as a tool to destroy someone. And it certainly isn't alright for a pResident to deem a group of citizens as second class in his SoTU.

Fighting Bush* this way without the proof won't get us anywhere. They will just deem us queers as crack pots who are grasping at straws.

17. i have to agree
politically this is a net negative, esp. for an actual candidate.

fringe and distracting.

i don't need to be convinced on *'s hypocrisy and those who do need to be convinced are not going to swayed by a gay angle.

there's plenty of documented hypocrisy (and other crimes) on the record.

if anything, imho, it taints the anti-bush message in much the same way that 'no pentagon plane' theories cheapen legitimate 9/11 inquiry.

10. If the stuff about Victor Ashe is true
then I think it's more likely he's one of those guys who live with women but enjoy doing and being done by guys on the side. They swear they're not gay. I lived with one for two years and never would have guessed if he hadn't had so much to say about "fags" or been so well versed on what goes on in public parks and bathrooms. He made dates on the net, too, with other guys who weren't gay. Is there a name for these park-cruiser types? They seem different from regular gay guys to me. For a while after I learned about them, I went around going, "Is he one? Is he one? Is he one?"

Don't you remember high school when being called gay meant you lost your friends. I ate alone, all alone, for the better part of a school year. It was humiliating and awful, and it happened directly because of the stereotype you perpetuate here. Bush should be commended for being a friend even after he found out Ashe is gay not condemned.

23. So if a married President is gay and
has sex with men outside of marriage, isn't this kind of the same thing as Clinton's extra marital activities with women? I think we should try to get proof and out him. It does speak volumes not only about the hypocrisy of this President, but of the double standard in dealing with both of these Presidents.

Under "normal" circumstances, I find "outing" people grotesque. However, in THIS CASE the HYPOCRISY is the key point rather than sexuality. I could give a rat's patoot about the *dauphin's sex life or anyone else's for that matter. What GALLS me is the horrifying damage done by his USING others' sexuality as a jackhammer, with the express purpose of destroying the well-being of and denying civil rights to American citizens. I'd be DELIGHTED if his homophobic, misanthropic, holier-than-thou lemmings were confronted with some graphic photos! Forget hearsay, PHOTOS! And I mean DELIGHTED. Oh yes, a Jimmy Swaggart reprise would REALLY be fun!

Even if the shrub did occasionally frolic with guys, I still wouldn't consider him gay. I mean, he's not altogether human to me. Male animals have sex with each other sometimes, but no one calls them gay. That Victor Ashe guy might be committing bestiality, but the shrub is not gay.

31. A gay person using being gay as an attack, how sad
Self hatred is so deep in some gays and lesbians. Making every villain gay is an old trick--and now one that gays even indulge in to destroy others. Above you write that you are doing this to attack Bush*; however your discourse is actually a right-wing tool and method not befitting of a Gay person or a progressive--as well as the fact that you really are attacking being Gay--using it as if it is something ugly.

You write about his hypocrisy but there is no real evidence that the Moron (sic) and Chief is Gay.

I think it is surprising that such a toady as Bush* stayed friends with a person after they disclosed that they were gay. In my own life I have known Democrats who were not as loyal in their friendship to gays and lesbians after they would come out.

I am sick an tired of the "Hitler is gay," "Rush is Gay," "Hannibal Lector is gay," hatred. Oh wait now I know why they made that new movie with Charlise Therone:

To highlight the wonders of being a lesbian, serial-killer, man-hater--your post strikes me as being in that vein.

43. Brrring, Brrring
The following is a fictional conversation between President Bush and Prime Minister Paul Martin....

Brrring, Brrring
http://rbham.com/

"Hello, Prime Minister's office. How may I help you?"

"Hi. This is the White House calling. President Bush would like to talk to Prime Minister Martin."

"OK. Just a minute, I'll connect you...(click) Sir? President Bush is on the phone..."

"By all means! Thank you, Patty. Please put the call right through! Ahem...

(click)Hello, Paul Martin here."

"Please hold for the President, sir...(click)"

"Paulie Canuck? You there? Hee, hee...you remember that nickname, Paulie Canuck?"

"I....er....yes, Mr. President. Quite endearing, really..."

"Yeah! Heh, heh...you don't want to know what I called that Cretin guy..."

"Um, you told me what you called him at the conference. I've been willing myself to forget it..."

"Well, enough chit chat. I s'pose you'd like to know why I called?"

"That would be nice, Mr. President..."

"Okay. How'd you like to visit the White House next month? After all, now that we're friends again..."

"That would be quite an honour, sir. As I recall, you never extended that courtesy to my predecessor..."

"Pre-do-who? Yeah, well, you're with us not against us. I never trusted that French-speaking retard...what's wrong with his face anyway? Ugly sum'bitch..."

"Excuse me, sir. But I must protest, he was a democratically elected representative. Surely, you could display more respect..."

"Ugly is ugly, Paulie. Speaking of that, I'd like to ask for one favour..."

"Okay, what would that be?"

"You make sure you bring that that boy with the nice bone structure. with ya, y'hear? (paper rustling) Scott Reid?"

"Well, of course. He's a trusted and vibrant member of my staff. I remember that you made a comment about him. Compared his, um, appearance to your own press secretary, Mr. McLellan, as I recall…"

"Vibrant? Does that mean he likes...y'know...flowers?"

"Err...I'm not that intimate with his personal life..."

"Heh, heh...leave that to me...I mean...okay! Thanks, Paulie! See ya next month. Gotta go...God told me that I got a Crusade to lead...and flowers to get...do ya think he'd like a nick name? Hmmm. Scottie Violets? Hell! I'll think of somethin'...(click)..."

"Quite. (click) Patty?"

"Yes, Prime Minister?"

"Put me through to Scott Reid's office. I'm going to have to ask him how far he'll go for the sake of his country."

45. This thread is not kosher
Sorry but this is the kind of nonsense we're supposed to be against.

It is a smear job based on rumor and innuendo.

It is nobody's business.

It implies that being gay is a bad thing.

Yes, there's the hypocracy factor, if it were true. But really, aren't there more important things to talk about?

But I'm sure it'll become a 300 post thread anyway. Just wanted to register my objection.
