There's Talk of Riordan Running as a Democrat
I heard someone on some cable show mention that he's looking into a Democrat. I know very little about this man other than the fact that he's a moderate Republican.

1. I didn't think you had to declare a party
But I'm not from the Golden State, so I don't know.

3. That kinda makes sense, somehow.

The present pack of frothing mouthbreathers that constitute the repugs in Cali would not appeal to Riordan. Wouldn't surprise me that he remembered the old saying "If you play with shit, you get some on you".

It is hard for reasonable people to associate their good names with scum like Issa and some of the other nutbars.

6. I do find it funny that Issa has dug himself into a hole
Few people know who he is, so he has to use the media to get attention. But he can't do that, because the media will dig into his criminal past. So it seems like he screwed himself and wasted $2 million.

4. here's a freeper quote on Riordian
He was nominated for "RINO of the year"

Freeper 1: To call Dick Riordian a RINO is an insult to RINOs. He doesn't even rise to that level.
Freeper 2: Agreed. He even insults the term buffoon.

I believe he once called Clinton one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, hence the hatred of him over there. But anyway party doesn't really matter in this race since anyone who wants can run.

5. So doesn't this make the "there's no difference between
the Democrats and Republicans" crowd have something to crow about?
This is about putting on different hats as far as I am concerned. I know there are some Democrats in my neck of the woods, who think Riordan is okay. Maybe he is, but as far as I am concerned he is a Republican and hasn't claimed any "epiphanies" yet.

8. Riordan is right of many Democrats and left of many Republicans
Maybe he should run as an independent.

9. Riordan, as mayor of LA, welcomed the
delegates in one of the opening speeches at the 2000 DNC. It was a nice speech. I certainly consider him to be to the left of Gray Davis, and Davis was damn lucky he beat Riordan in the primary. I'm going to vote no on the recall, and I figure I get two chances because then I get to vote for a new governor. Riordan will not be high on my list.
