Poll question: Arrogance of the worst kind? Are we so arrogant we know not what we do?
Arrogance is the result of Delusion and Fantasy...among other factors.

Bush is the result of our collective Arrogance... as a Nation. Not all of us but enough to allow BushCo into office. For this we are paying a steep Price in blood and treasure.

In addition, the resources that could be spent on the Positive goes wasted for in the end we will still lose this "War". The Terrorists come knocking on our door because of our lack of Benevolence, the Caring, sharing thing. The signs BushCo shows: its all about US and what WE want. We force ourselves into other peoples lives and Nations for Ulterior motives, and it wouldn't be so bad if we did it in a bilateral way but instead use Brown shirt methods and intimidation.... followed by graft, bargaining, etc.

A sure sign, Denial and distraction.

These guys are so shallow its a desert.

6. It is the Fatal mix that too many in the Past have discovered too late
Bush don't read thus he is ignorant of history... thus he repeats mistakes others have made.

He had a wonderful opportunity to do this World some good, us included, instead he has proven himself unfit for the Presidency.

"Leader" my ass.

3. The country has never faced up...
... to any of its mistakes. We are still "spinning" Hiroshima and Nagasaki as necessary to save lives of those who otherwise would have died.

It's what's the matter with the U.S. We have never seen ourselves as doing anything wrong.

Interestingly, we forced the German people to face up to what happened during the Second World War and they seem to be the stronger for doing that.

7. Interesting, that
You remember that old joke about Boosh the Elder (which is problematic, because it didn't leave a base open for Incurious George): He was born on third base, and thought the hit a triple?

I think you could apply that to this country, too.

Some of us are too rich for our own good. and too many out there with not nearly enough.

The Rich want it this way.,... who would do the lawns and the pools?

17. ..and you probably never will....
Who's gonna apologise to the Vietnamese, Chileans, Iraqi's etc, and offer to pay reparations for the hundreds of thousands killed and maimed by 'policy errors'?

Not the US Government that's for sure.

The US will never join the international community as an equal amongst nations. You're better than us......right?

You won't even subject yourselves to the same international laws and treaties as we do.

4. Sublime's We're Only Gonna Die For Our Arrogance Lyrics
this song sums up my feelings on the matter

------------------------------------------------

Sublime - We're Only Gonna Die For Our Arrogance Lyrics

Early man walked away
As modern man took control
There mind's weren't all the same
(And) To conquer was their goal
So he built his great empire
And he slaughtered his own kind
(And) He died a confused man

(He) Killed himself in his own mind
(repeat) x 4
Let's Go!

Were only gonna die from our own arrogance,
That's why we might as well take our time.

--------------------------------------
Great song and on the 40 oz to freedom disk
:headbang:

13. Every Good Friday
The Peace and Justice arm of the Catholic Church here in Denvoid (and I imagine in other cities) spends the afternoon doing a Stations of the Cross around Denver, confessing our collective sins committed in this society.

When asked once by a Catholic man why we didn't talk about the sins of the "Russians", I replied, "When you go to confession, do you confess your neighbors sins?" Y'know, even those who *GET* the idea of the need for individual recognition of our wrongs, just can't *GET* that it also applies to societies and countries.

Seems like we need a 12-step program, focusing on "admit when we were wrong", and "making amends" for the whole danged society.

I think this calls for a Jesse Jackson here.... "Can I hear an 'Amen'"? :)

16. Amen, we can use a dose or two of Humility and some real Mirror Time.
We also need BIG PICTURE GOGGLES, by the billions. Able to see thru the smoke and mirrors(small shit) thrown up by the deceivers, mostly Pubs, the users will be better able to make choices when it comes to VOTING for the Best Approach to major improvements in our collective lives.

We need stronger VISINE.

:hi: Kanary, Long time so see.

15. In Bin Ladens case thats true. He gave us plenty of warning by being
in Saudi with an AF Base, we violate Holy Soil. By continuing operating the Base long after DS1 we Royally and Arrogantly pissed off OBL.

Now, after thousands maimed and dead, we have moved our Base. Isn't this Nuts or what? Then we continue to FK up by making a grab for oil in an arrogant way, Unilaterally. Boy, are WE Dumb or Dumber?

Instead of hundreds, now we got thousands who are willing to hurt us even if it means suicide. A can of worms for sure.

Come, we go drink to a Nuts Society which allows this kind of Leadership to continue
