1. Yeah, 38% seems about right
That's even kind of low, in my opinion and experience.

10. 38% is about the size of the Repug base.
So, yes they are stupid people. And a lot of them are evil. They'd sell out this country for a nickle or kill thousands if it helped Shrub.

13. Just wait until it sinks in
It takes a lot to convince people they've been wrong about someone all along. That so far only 38% are saying they believe Bush's side on this is amazing. This is before the spin, before the memo is explained to people.

Bush is having a bad April.

They have to go all weekend without hearing Rush's spin. How will they defend themselves at Easter dinner conversations. }(

15. Done! I believe Richard Clarke, I'm certain many good intelligence
and law-enforcement people's leads, investigations and warnings were deliberately disregarded-there were many foreign warnings too, alarm bells were sounding all over the world.

LIHOP.

They keep trying to pigeonhole this into trivial he said/she said-ness.

26. Just had a thought
Perhaps some of the "White House" vote was siphoned off into the "Richard Clarke" vote because some freep-types were stupid enough to assume the memo was from Bin Laden or forgot to notice the word memo itself. IOW, they may have read it as "Which version of events do you think 'Bin Laden' ___ supports?"

LOL, wouldn't surprise me. :eyes:

29. 38% is getting veeeery close to bush's core constituency
Look, there are about 30% of the population who will believe, or pretend to believe, anything W's henchmen say. That is just basic "conservativism" at work. Deeper analysis is unnecessary, because "truth" cannot contradict the underlying premise that bush is doing a fantastic job.

Those 30% will vote for bush if he were shown raping farm animals live on TV: "He's a deeply moral and compassionate man, those sheep must have been asking for it."

Such complete loyalty is not subject to swift change, only gradual erosion. They will not be voting for anyone other than the GOP candidate in November, even if he's proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be the singlemost incompetent moron ever to occupy the white house.
