2. The coalition authority is in deep denial.

Either that, or outright lying. Either is equally possible. The war situation will not improve. The CA insists there is no central leadership to the Iraqi resistance. The CA is still perpetrating the fraud that it is only bands of criminals and disenchanted Saddam loyalists. IMO, the resistance is becoming more organized every day. The organization of the resistance is obvious with some of the recent operations. I believe the Iraqi people will support the resistance through thick and thin. The Iraqis want to control their own destiny, and the US is preventing that. Until we have more enlightened leadership in the US, our mission, and our troops in Iraq, are doomed.

6. I guess DEBKA isn't 100% unreliable

...but I generally distrust anything I see there. They've published an awful lot of triumphal WMD "discoveries" and such over the last year or so. Claim to be associated with Israeli intel services. Israeli right-wing disinformation is more like it.

But the NYTimes has a similar map. And anything on DEBKA NOT calculated to make the invasion look like a good idea is probably more trustworthy than the rest.....
