Theresa Lepore of Florida Elections is a liar.
Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 11:29 PM by Eric J in MN
Theresa Lepore designed the Butterfly Ballot which caused 3,000 seniors in 2000 who were trying to vote for Gore to have their votes counted for Pat Buchanan.

Now she is telling lies to defend black box voting.

She says that if an electronic voting machine makes a mistake, it will automatically shut down.

LA TIMES:
LePore said that contrary to Wexler's beliefs, the new machines are capable of generating a "ballot audit trail" showing the choices made by an individual voter. If votes are not being properly recorded, she said, the machine shuts down automatically. Wexler's lawsuit is to be heard in federal court in Fort Lauderdale in July.

If you want to fight against her garbage, try to get "The Voter Confidence Act, S.1980 passed by the US Congress.

Please call your Senators at 1-800-839-5276 (Capitol Switchboard).

sample phone words:

Hello, may I speak to the office of Senator ________?
(call transferred)
Hello, may I speak to someone about a voting-rights bill?
(call transferred)
Hello, I'd like to leave a message for Senator ________ to cosponsor the Voter Confidence Act, S.1980, to protect our voting rights and the accuracy of elections.

1. Know what's weird about LePore?
For a while, she worked as a secretary for Mohammed al-Fayed, the arms dealer and father of Dodi Fayed. I believe there are links between Fayed and the Bushes as well.

I'm not one for tinfoil-hatting, or one to promote it. But sometimes, you have to wonder...

3. I hope she gets voted out, but it will probably be too late
I hope she gets voted out, but by the next supervisor will take office shortly before the 2004 election, so unless he or she wants to use plain paper ballots (which I believe in) it may be difficult to get a new system in place.

Plain paper ballots can be counted in one night, so I hope if Mr. Arthur Anderson, who believes in verified-voting, wins the Supervisor position, that is what he'll use.

10. There hasn't been an election for her office since
Edited on Mon Apr-12-04 12:14 AM by Eric J in MN
There hasn't been an election for her office since the butterfly ballot.

The election is Aug. 31. Four candidates have filed. If no
candidate gets a majority on Aug. 31, there will be a runoff between
the top two finishers in November.

6. Can someone with a better memory help me out on this?
I did hear that she worked for Bush 41 when he was still VP doing the Iran - Contra Arms deals. She "entertained" the sheik who was the go-between, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't Dodie's father.

Can someone with a better memory help me out on this?

With her connections to the BFEE, I can't see how she can call herself a Democrat without getting struck by lightening for lying. She's a mole, a plant, a spy.

8. I don't know about all that, but in Michael Moore's book,
I don't know about all that, but in Michael Moore's book, "Stupid White Men," he writes that she was a Registed Republican, then a Registered Democrat during the 2000 recount, then an Independent after the recount.

9. My bad
Not father, but uncle of Dodi Fayed, Adnan Khashoggi, as a private flight attendant.

11. In the summer of 2001 (iirc) I sent an email to W.Palm Beach County BoE
Edited on Mon Apr-12-04 12:57 AM by AP
(or whoever it was) in response to a press release which was published at Buzzflash. The press release said something about the county switching to touch screen machines. It had an email address for the county person in charge of this. I said in my email that I didn't think the county should be buying machines which didn't have auditable paper trails.

I got a resonse saying, "we weren't shown any machines which had paper trails."

Literally, days later there was an article in the New York Times in which a representative from a voting machine manufacturer whose machine produced auditable paper trails was quoted as saying that they showed their machines to the county and they were rejected.

Somebody was lying. I wonder whom.
