If Bush and Cheney aren't under oath, then I'd rather they just not do it.

1. Amen, brother...
What's the point, really, other then that no one will be able to later hang them for lying "under oath."

As with Condi's, Rummy's, and Asscrofts testimonies, the best we can expect from W. and Dick is a re-hashing of the same, crappy talking points that we've been hearing for months.

2. The Deal
The Deal:

The will be under oath, but they will be allowed to cross their fingers behind their backs.

...And all Cheney curse words will be scrubbed from the transcripts.

3. I'd rather the cowardly criminal weaklings weren't given special treatment
Testifying hand-in-hand like a good mentor/child -- only for an hour -- wonder if they got to choose which questions they'd answer as well?

COWARDLY TRAITORS

4. This is just deplorable.
If I were a Republican, I'd hang my head in shame for voting for those two flim-flam men.

If you were a republican, you'd have your head so far up your a$$ you'd be blind just like they are!

Which comes first? Being an idiot or a republican? Do you have to be an idiot to buy their crap? Or are you raised in a republican house and become more and more idiotic over time?

I know of at least one man that was raised repub and recently (thanks to the cowardly criminal AWOL fraud) woke up! Yay!

5. They took an oath to get into office
I think we should make sure they understand that we hold them to that oath completely.

7. Good point...they should be considered under oath at all times
I mean, a person is only as good as their word, right?

I agree with Bhunt70, too: the commission should say "no thanks, we have plenty of info already." What are the odds of that happening, eh?

8. Under oath
Neither Clinton or Gore testified under oath. I believe it has to do with the separation of powers issue. Do we really want the congress to be able to compel the president or VP to march up on any given day to testify before some committee under oath? Just imagine the side show during the late 90's with Clinton testifying to a hummer in front of Congress.

If you haven't figured it out yet, this commission in going nowhere fast. It hurt Bush initially, but now it appears to be a group of partisans. The media is fueling this view and by the time the report is released, any damaging findings will be blamed on Gorelick.
