If a democracy develops in Iraq...
and Sadr is elected leader, what does Bush do then?

Honor the Iraqi democracy? Or steal another election?

1. He'd have to work much harder to steal this one
Iraq is under the world's gaze, and there are so many independent news agencies throughout the world that would expose his sham, but maybe he'll get cocky. Maybe he could ship in some of those fancy new Diebold machines to help the Iraqis conduct their first "democratic" election.

:puke:

2. I don't believe Bush will be in office by time of "true" elections
June 30th is just a paper date.

3. No shit
I have wondered that from day one.

What happens when the people make a choice that the US doesn't like?

4. Whoever is elected, I don't understand
how they're expecting everyone else in Iraq to just go, "Oh, okay then." Election or no election -- what makes anybody think they'll just accept it? Am I missing something?

5. No Wonder Saddam ruled with an iron fist...
At least he was successful in forming a secular state.

6. I guess if the Bushies like the new leader
then we'll hustle on out of there. If not, we'll stay and assist the revolt. Is that how it works?
