Help: Need Names of Conservative Groups !

Last week O'Reilly told a caller to his radio show that there is not one
conservative group trying to influence anyones vote etc. I guess O'Reilly forgot
the numerous right-wing think tanks, and how the corporations, the PAC's, and
many wealthy republicans give money to Bush and the RNC. A pioneer raises $100,000
or more and gives it to Bush, I would call that a republican trying to influence the election.

Not to mention Bush raised about double what Gore did and he still lost the popular vote.

Then he said there are all kinds of liberal groups and people that are trying to influence
your vote. He cited George Soros, hollywood liberals, liberal websites, Joe Conason,
and on and on. He also called Conason a liberal bomb thrower on the factor friday night, lol.

Al Franken played the clip of this on his friday show for the segment called How stupid
is that. If anyone has a transcript of the O'Reilly clip used for how stupid is that, please
post it in this thread. It was near the end of fridays O'Franken factor with Joe Conason, O'Franken
played the clip for Joe then they commented on it. It was in the last half hour of the show.

I plan to make a web page listing all the conservative think tanks etc. So I need you guys
to name them and post the url to their website.

You can also add the names of republicans who have been trying to influence people
to vote republican. What about PAC's and 527's etc. Give me everything you have.

Just add to the list:

Conservative Think Tanks

Heritage Foundation
American Enterprise Institute
Americans For Tax Reform
The Cato Institute
Center for Strategic and International Studies
Competitive Enterprise Institute
International Institute for Strategic Studies
Progress and Freedom Foundation

Conservatives Who Have Tried to Influence Elections

4. Shows what a liar O'Really is...
"A television ad sponsored by the Coalition for the Future American Worker has aired making the claim that Sen. Tom Daschle introduced a bill that offers jobs and amnesty to illegal aliens. According to Daschle's lawyer the ad should be pulled because the claim is false.
...
After a brutal series of attacks by right wing groups on behalf of John Thune in 2002, the right wing groups have returned to South Dakota on Thune's behalf.  In the last week, four different groups have begun running ads in South Dakota, including an ad by the ridiculously titled "Coalition for the Future American Worker."
The "coalition" is a well documented white supremacist front group and has had their racist television ads pulled from a number of television stations.  Earlier this year in Iowa, a tv station pulled the group's ads.  The Associated Press reported, "We took a look and decided the ads were unnecessarily inflaming and borderline racist," said Jim Boyer, general manager for WHO-TV, who said the ads took a position he did not want represented at the station. "It was a piece of business we did not want."
It's one thing to have a group run a negative ad, but for a station to accept white supremacist money to run a false and misleading ad is something we should not tolerate in a state like South Dakota."

The Club For Growth is another bunch of thugs (used to be funded by Enron) that ran an ad comparing Daschle to Osama Bin Laden.

8. Not to mention the so-called internet media outlets that ...
spew hatred at 'liberals.' Newsmax.com, townhall.com (run by Heritage Foundation, that was founded by the Coors family, and funded by them and Richard Mellon Scaife, our favorite right-wing millionaire), and worldnetdaily.com (run by Farrah -- funded by Moon as in Moonies). Go to pfaw.org and au.org (Peope for the American Way and Americans United for Separation of Church and State). Go down to the right-hand bottom corner of the screen for pfaw and hit 'rightie organizations' or something like that. Anyway, the latter two orgs have compiled data on right-wing orgs that influence elections. And buy David Brock's book, "Blinded by the Right."

a sample: {JINSA}
U.S.-Israel strategic cooperation is a vital component in the global security equation for the United States, and has been at the heart of JINSA’s mission since its inception in 1976.

The Middle East remains the focal point of American security policy because of the confluence of energy, money, weapons and ideology. The inherent instability in the region caused primarily by inter-Arab rivalries and the secular/religious split in many Muslim societies leaves the future of the region in doubt. Israel, with its technological capabilities and shared system of values, has a key role to play as a U.S. ally in the region.

The neo-con influence is Huge. O'Billy is the sightless leading the sightless.

14. Traditional Values Coalition
Amazing what sorts of memory lapses self-professed "Conservatives" can come up with when it comes to inconvenient facts and data that undermine their polemics. How odd that O'Reilly forgot about the Traditional Values Coalition! How very strange that the "Mo' Spin Zone" also forgot about the self-styled "American Family Association." I would also have mentioned the CWA and the Eagle Forum, but others beat me to it. The Family Research Council may still be in existence, but I'm not sure.

As for web sites, there are such things as the Free Republic, Sierra Times, Conservative Underground, to name only a few.

I consider Bill-O to be a grass skirt conservative--of the sort that will have to hastily weave themselves new garments to hide the bare knees and naughty bits on that day of reckoning when "Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!" comes true.

18. Don't Forget Religious Hate Radio
O'Reilly loves to bitch about NPR and it being publicly funded (only 10% of their overall expense), but every day, every hour...right now, there's some Right wing preacher on one or two or a dozen local radio stations spewing pro-Repugnican propaganda wrapped up in a cross and an American flag.

Start with Focus On The Family with the evil Rev. Dobson and the cadre of tele-evangelists and the hundreds of local on-air bible thumpers...all chirping this noise without any need to present a different opinion...making millions through "donations" and broadcast time sales...by using publicly-owned NON-Commercial airspace.

O'Reilly wouldn't dare touch this...the spin would even boggle his boggled mind.
