11. It is a broad leaf sage
related to Coleus. Coleus will get you high too. You eat the leaves. The root is considered medicinal. Of course, injesting anything 'non traditional' has its risks.

BTW, catnip is also a broad leaf sage.

Some lawmakers are working to make Salvia Divinorum illegal, so checking state laws would be a good idea. Huge fines and prison time could result from possession.

9. ew. I did a few years ago
I don't know---both my husband and I smoked it a few times. It was dirt cheap---like $5 for an oz, but it was weird.

Everything we read warned us to only take a few hits, and wait 10 mins before taking more.

It was weird in a trippy sort of way for about 5 minutes, then I started getting paranoid (and I am *NOT* a paranoid-when-high kind of person), then I got really really anal and crabby and in a bad mood.

So did my husband, and my mom (who smoked some), and some friends of ours that we gave some too.

We tried it about 5 times, all with the same results, and threw the rest away.

Again, the first 5 minutes was really cool---almost LSD-lite. But then it got really bad....

Try it--maybe you'll like it

21. I've heard it's VERY intense...
but very fast. You take a hit, and it lasts for 45 secs or so... that seem to be like hours to you.

10. Wow!
Maybe some of our chickenshit politicians will take note. They have always been afraid to take a stand for de-criminalization of pot. Maybe the right wing bullshit propaganda is unraveling all at once.

12. turn the economy around by
legalizing hemp, at the very least, and this country would have a burst of entrepreneurial energy with hemp competing with paper products (and giving people an option to cutting down forests), and biomass (and giving people an option to fossil fuels), and roping and clothing and on and on...

and they should legalize marijuana, too, and treat it like alcohol.

however, I realize that Dubya is a corporate whore, and a fundamentalism whore who will not do things for the good of the economy, but only for those who pony up dough to allow the continued rape, pillage and plunder of the citizens of this nation.

learned it in school during Carter's term, and then they just stopped teaching it, or expecting us to know it...

18. It won't be decriminalized until the tax revenues are needed.
For all of you who weren't around during the fabulous flying sixties, we all thought then it would be decriminalized. 40+ years later, we're still talking about it. When the misadministration and the thumpers realize the money to be made through legalization (not counting the BILLIONS saved not trying to stop the ganja man)and the current group of old farts in control are replaced, maybe we'll get somewhere. Untill then, toke up folks, don't bogart that joint, my friend, pass it over to me.:smoke:

19. I didn't hear Lou announce this one on air
but lately he has had the most bemused expression on his face when announcing poll results. I think he and maybe CNN can't quite figure out what demographic audience Lou is appealing to. I keep expecting him to get a makeover--a new youth-oriented look.

Ha Ha. Lou's polls are killing me. Next week he's going to ask how many want to do Ecstacy with him.

26. george soros is for decriminalization
as are libertarians...or legalization.

the towns whose economy depends on a prison don't want America to take away their jobs...hope they don't get outsourced to gitmo.

lots of people who don't smoke did, and know it's stupid to punish people in the way this country does. prohibition all over again.

but big oil and big lumber and big plastic don't want hemp legalized, either, even though it's not the same as m.j. -

so, it's about money and votes from the puritans.
