Let's leave pickles out of it
I've been guilty of taking shots at Laura Bush myself and I now apologize for it. It's George W. Bush who is the plague that's currently the biggest threat to the inhabitants of planet Earth.

Let's call him every name in the book and condemn his useless ass to hell for all of eternity. But lets also recognize that it's beneath us to attack his wife for his crimes. Come on, people. We're not Republicans. If nothing else, she deserves pity for being married to him.

Limbaugh, Hannity, and their ilk have been attacking Hillary for years, (even before she was a senator). We're better than that. Aren't we???

I think that pretty much sums up how much attention she will get from me.

3. Sorry, but every Whopper deserves extra Pickles.
She's a nut.

After 9/11, she was on Oprah. In her usual "fembot on prozac" way, she was saying how great things were and Oprah had a shocked look on her face. I wish I had it on tape, that "lady" boggles the mind.

4. Naww. Pickles is a lump of pus wrapped in upholstery fabric
She supports L'il George when they slap her back into consciousness long enough for her to make an appearance.

She should go public with the truth about her, L'il George and Condi. then I might consider cutting her some slack.

i leave the wife and kids out of it.

The reason why Hillary was a target is because she took part in certain policy decisions and she was threatening because she was a smart, ambitious, woman. All Laura decides is which god-awful 50's dress she's going to put on and what the best hors-d'ouevres will be for Bush's drankin'/policy making parties.

Ok, no more i swear.

Considering the "family" pics of them with *. He with his usual arrogant scowl, they not looking happy and/or being several feet away from him.

I feel sorrow for his children, especially Barbara.

Pickles is open territory though.

Pickles on the other hand, made a choice by marrying the moron. So as she stands/staggers by her 'man' in all her splended sofa-cover glory, I too, think she's fair game.

27. How about targeting Maria Shriver and Oprah for supporting Ahnuld?
Edited on Wed May-05-04 09:28 PM by JohnOneillsMemory
Since Ahnuld is accused by atleast 16 women of molestation, I'm disappointed in Oprah for helping him conquer California.

When he was 'running' his non-campaign against Gray Davis, Oprah had the celebrity couple on her show for a friendly congratulatory chat.

Co-workers of Ahnuld's describe opening the door to a trailer on set and finding him giving head to a women. Ahnuld is quoted as saying when caught "eating is not cheating."

Oprah is close friends with Maria and should advise her to take the kids and get away from the man who Molly Ivins described as looking like a condom filled with walnuts.

Ahnold met with Enron's Ken Lay while Enron was stealing billions from the California budget which is now collapsing and cutting health services for the poor and elderly and education for kids.

This may seem off topic but I'm referring to women who stand by men who destroy other people's lives. There is an implied complicity.

26. really...check this out
First lady Laura Bush is on the road a lot as a surrogate for her husband and has proved to be a boffo fundraiser, bringing $5 million into the campaign coffers.

-snip-

She is immersed in the campaign, defensive about her husband's war policies and military record and influential in his decision-making.

'Pay to pray'
A prayer breakfast featuring Laura Bush has all the appearances of a fund- raiser

First published: Wednesday, May 5, 2004

Pay to pray, good government advocates and other critics are calling it. Next Tuesday's prayer breakfast, sponsored by Governor Pataki and featuring First Lady Laura Bush, is taking on many of the overtones of high-stakes political fund-raising. That's when it becomes so clear that political contributions are the price of access to government contracts and business in Albany generally.

Most, if not all, of the doubt about the May 11 event at the Empire State Plaza's convention center was erased when a memo, including a state office telephone number and state e-mail address, surfaced from a top Labor Department official trying to get agency employees to buy tickets that cost $30 for an individual and as much as $1,000 for a table for 10.

Even as "a friendly reminder to those who have attended the event in the past," as a Labor Department spokesman characterized the memo, it sounds like solicitation.

Lobbyists, meanwhile, already have their own reasons to attend a breakfast where such political heavyweights will be in attendance. Mrs. Bush may be a religious person, just as her husband is, but she is not a religious figure. She is very much a political figure, especially when President Bush is in the midst of a bitter battle for re-election.

Mr. Pataki could dispel the concerns that politics will come before prayer by allowing public review of the financial records of his prayer breakfast trust fund. He could clear up additional confusion by registering the fund as a state-recognized charity. A Pataki spokesman has said records will be turned over to the Attorney General's Office for a determination of whether registration is required, although the private law firm that established the trust after Mr. Pataki was first elected governor advised otherwise.

The state Ethics Commission also could be more vigilant about all this, rather than immediately coming to the same conclusions about the memo from Mary Hines, the deputy labor commissioner, as the Labor Department itself.

The distinct possibility exists that the "pay to play" culture in New York politics means pay to pray as well.

Until that's refuted, help us all.

9. Good Idea, Except....
We can still point out her starry-eyed naivete.

When asked how she knows Dubya did his National Guard Service, she replied, "Because he told me he did."

But, no mean spirited personal attacks on non-politicians (except for their journalistic/media patsies.)

I personally know one of the ladies involved in the casket photo controversy, and it really hurt to see the Freepers launch these nasty, scathing attacks complete with ugly name calling. I knew how it may look from their perspective, but knowing this person, I knew things weren't as they appeared (to them.)

So the elected politicians, their appointed minions and the journalists, etc who do their bidding - fair game. Spouses, children, other relatives, etc. - leave 'em alone. And "ordinary people" suddenly thrown into the limelight don't judge them so fast.

sorry, got a bit off topic there.

We don't know enough about Laura to judge her one way or the other.

And I'm supposed to rise above it all and give Laura a free pass? I don't think so. Face it folks, this is war. And if we're not ready to fight the right on their own terms we'll lose.

I'd agree with you, except Laura Bush has not been just baking cookies and standing by her man. She recently did some political stump spewing, and so she's fair game.

Hillary was a valid target, too; it's just their ridiculously slanderous attacks that are offsides.

However, I don't see the point in going after the First Ladies, since they really don't have much to do with the Pres' policies (moreso in Pickles' case).

Hear about it, Babs. Watch, Babs. Tune in with your "beautiful mind" Sober up, Babs. The party is over. The ice cubes have melted away. The bright lights in the Country Club lounge have come on and the little, maggoty bartender is calling, "Last call for alcohol!"

To say they attacked Hillary that gives us the right to attack Laura is the same type of line some Freepers are using to justify torturing the Iraqi prisoners (well, they torture Americans, so it is okay...)

Now for those of you who say she campaigns and raises money for her husband and that makes her fair game..

See, I think Laura Bush really believes all that Compassionate Conservative b.s. I think she really believes in God and the whole "teach a man to fish..." etc. I think she really believes trickle down economics helps everyone. OK - so she's niave.

Whereas I'm not so sure Dubya believes it or just uses it to promote his own (and his friends') self interests.
