1. Wow! That's a tough one! Might I suggest FL?
FL = Bob Graham (DAMNIT! WHY DIDN'T HE MAKE THE NOMINATION! GRR!) and Bill Nelson

Man, those are some TOUGH choices y'all! Kennedy & Kerry is a NICE ONE! So is NY, NJ, DE, HA, MD, MI and WI! Huuuuweeeeeee. I'm still opting for FL! Hey, SOMEONE has to!

Lu Cifer, again, DISNEY...YOU SUCK! Can't we send Disney, oh yeah and those dirtbags at Clear Channel and the FCC to some small South Pacific island that France still does NUKE TESTS ON???

And I don't want to be hateful, but didn't Landrieu vote in favor of the DISASTEROUS medicare "modernization" scam?

I've enjoyed her on C-SPAN, especially during the vote for cloture on the judicial nominees, but I have a real hard time accepting her vote on that obviously flawed take-from-the-poor scam.

On edit:

Since many other Dems voted in favor of this bill, it isn't fair to single out Landrieu. My complaint is cheerfully withdrawn!:)

20. Don't worry...
...both Landrieu and Breaux should have known better it was really another scam like NCLB...many of those democrats who the victims of a GOP who manipulated the debate and skillfully outmaneuvered the Democrats in the Senate...if anyone should be blamed it should be Daschle for his listless indecisive leadership Dodd or Reid would be so much better imho...

7. Not CA
Edited on Thu May-06-04 10:56 AM by wryter2000
I love CA and love my Rep. Barbara Lee. The best! Boxer's fabulous. But Feinstein might as well be Lieberman. I wish Howard Dean would move here and run against her. I may not even be able to make myself vote for her in 2006. It'll depend on who's running against her, but I might have to vote Green.

I voted for the dynamic duo from Massachusetts. On edit: There are some great teams there. Really hard choice.

Boxer is losing it too. Pushing for the death penalty in the SF cop-killing case.

35. Agreed.
That one really has me scratching my head. But that's okay. Barb does plenty to piss off the Pukes, so I can forgive her this indescretion. Looks like the DA will be the fall-gal when it's all said and done. That's a shame because I've really liked her so far...

Mayor Newsom is a hottie. :loveya:

11. Joe Biden Voted
for the so-called Partial Birth abortion ban. I wrote a letter to him expressing my disagreement with his vote, but he never responded. I am still furious with him over that vote. Up until then, I'd have voted for Delaware as one of the states with the best senators.

I live in Maryland, so I admit to a bias, but I think both Senators are top notch. I just hope we can keep this list at its present numbers, or make it grow, come November.

...and i agree with the ban...as clearly many Democrats did and still do if you look at the margin by which it was carried in the senate...

29. I Am Furious With Everyone Who Voted For The Ban
but Biden in particular, because he has promoted himself as a pro-woman, pro-choice Senator.

So, you agree with the ban. Since you aren't a woman, and you'd never have to personally deal with making this decision, I guess it's easy for you to tell other people that their doctor's medical advice is wrong. Are you a doctor? If so, do you practice obstetrics? If not, what is the informed basis on which you have formed this opinion?

The decision to terminate a pregnancy, and the procedure by which it is done should only be made by a woman, her doctor, and her partner, provided he's willing to participate in the decision and he is not forcing the woman to abide by his sole decision.

The government has no business dictating this kind of private decision. It is painful enough for the women to make without some holier-than-thou ignorant-of-the-facts Senator, or any other outside person, putting his own political interest before her own life interest.

You are going to see Carl Levin's name as a signatory on it. Not a lot of zip. Not a lot of Charisma. Just a lot of doing what needs doing.

33. Levin's like my senior senator, Paul Sarbanes.
Let's hear it for the guys who do the work and aren't household names in the rest of the country. I have all the respect in the world for people like Levin and Sarbanes.

True, I love seeing Senator Durbin rip someone a new one, and of course I went out of my way to shake Chuck Schumer's hand when I saw him at a rally, but it's the quietly effective ones I root for.

24. Michigan!! Levin has been a great senator for a long time, and Stabenow
Has been good for her first term so far. Levin is a real party leader, who is known for his ethics and for holding the Defense department accountable for things like $900 toilet seats and such. He wins overwhelmingly every time he is up for reelection, so obviously plenty of repubs vote for him, too.

Sure, he's pissed over the photos but he's been the biggest cheerleader on our side of the aisle for this war!

(Oh, and to say that the photos are the worst thing for relations with the middle east in a decade? Did you forget you invaded and killed 10,000 Iraqis???????)

34. Don't forget North Dakota Sen. Byron L. Dorgan & Kent Conrad
Both are brainy and well versed on the financial dilemma of the Bush/Repuke Senate. Medicare, Iraq budget, etc.

I like Feinstein & Boxer, but these two Senators from the little known state of North Dakota undoubtedly know there fiscal business!!

Impressive also.
