My military buddies continue to surprise me...
Proof that not everyone in the military is an automatic Republican (or at least a * fan)...

I'm stationed at one of the more high-profile bases in the states, and one would think that such a prestige location would be filled with only the most hard-core of Republican diehards. You know, patriotism and all that.

Well, a buddy of mine was trying to access the Internet on one of our computers, and one of those stupid "insta-poll" pop-up ads came up, with a great big ol' picture of the Chimp grinning and asking the question, "Should President Bush be re-elected?" The problem was, the pop-up ad caused the browser and all the other programs to freeze up and he had to reboot the computer, losing valuable work in the process.

You can imagine my surprise as he was rebooting his computer when he said under his breath, "First the son-of-a-bitch fucks up my country, and now he's fucking up my computer."

Bush has few fans in the military these days. November is looking good!

3. I know a lot of people from high school who entered the military
conservative Republicans and came out radical lefties and socialists. Nothing like a dose of US Foreign Policy first-hand to dispel the myths and lies. I personally learned a lot just after I got kicked out-- just before I would have been commissioned (whew!).

5. So, how do those in the military cast their vote when stationed overseas?
...Will they be voting on Diebold touchscreen machines? Has anyone thought about the overseas vote angle yet? BushCo could very easily rig that one big time.

8. When I was overseas...
I had to request an absentee ballot from my home county. It was all done through the US mail - no military connection at all. (I assume it's the same today).

Oh, which bring up a big point - Service people need to register! I was appalled to see how many of my buddies never bothered to register and couldn't vote. Tell a friend! We need to get these people registered!

10. I wonder how anxious the Repubs are going to be to make sure
the miliary votes are counted??????
I seem to remember them being really concerned about it in 2000.
