The Democratic field: An Embarrassment of Riches!
(except for Holy Joe)

It has pained me over the last few months to read supporters of various candidates here at DU go at each other's throats, especially when insults are traded about each others' candidates; when the truth is that ANY ONE of these people out-shine the Shrubster by light years!

The Republicans know that, of course. Not all of them are self-deluded, they are just calculating.

I am leaning toward a certain candidate among the Dem field, but it cheers me that I could be happy with almost any one of the others, if that is who is chosen by the party. Regardless of who it is, their resume, life history, speaking ability and intelligence shows up the Shrub for who and what he is.

So when so many of you rip each others' candidates new assholes over differences which, even acknowledged, pale in light of the alternative: four more years of the Shrub regime, it's sort of painful and frustrating for me. I worry that post-nomination bitterness over pre-nomination ugliness will leave us divided and less than our strongest.

I would love to see an ad campaign that quickly compares our Dems' resumes and service records against that of Shrub...including his performance in office; including his performance immediately following 9/11.

I don't offer a solution to this issue of infighting; just a request that everyone look at the main goal, the big prize, and while promoting their candidate for the nomination keep one eye on the big picture, no?

Moseley-Braun, Edwards, Dean, Sharpton, Kucinich, Kerry, Graham, Gephardt...WOW. Shrub is toast-alicious.

3. Terwilliger, could you elaborate a little on that?
I mean, isn't ANY compromise of our demand for perfection simply part of acknowledging reality? Nothing and no one on this earth can be exactly who we want them to be.

What, specifically, isn't enough?

BTW, I respect your presence at Du and your reliably relevant contributions to threads.

The field is really strong, these are all heavyweights and each brings something unique to the table.

5. Even Holy Joe is all right
He may be a little far to the right for our tastes, but he's basically a decent human being, unlike that smirking manipulator in the White House.
