John Fund on Paula Zahn's show tonight.
I am ordinarily a reserved and tolerant person when it comes to listening to the rightists vomit forth their ridiculous talking points, but tonight I snapped. I woke up from a nap around 7 and turned on MSNBC to watch Olbermann, and his show began with the newly released photographs and video. Seeing a prisoner naked and smeared with feces, another cowering in a corner while a dog barked at him, and video of naked prisoners being hit and forced to get on their hands and knees made me feel physically ill in a way that the previous photos had not. During the commercial break, I flipped over to CNN and there, grinning like a simpleton in his gray suit and conservative tie, was John Fund, the Wall Street Journal's leading right-wing columnist and editor. Fund was, against all logic, arguing that the photos and video being released are costing America the war, because the portrayal of Iraq in the media fails to see the big picture. By which of course, he meant, all of the good we are doing in Iraq. Now, at this point, I snapped at the TV, but continued listening in a drowsy haze. For some bizarre reason, Fund then, if I remember correctly, began to argue that the My Lai massacre contributed to America's defeat in Southeast Asia because the media failed to tout it as a military victory for the United States, and opinion on the war soured after it. Now, I cannot be certain that's what he said, but it's what I heard. The man was defending the My Lai massacre and Abu Gharaib.

I yelled at the TV until my throat was raw. Never have I seen such a disgusting individual. That man should be dropped into the middle of Fallujah with his Bible. Absolutely sickening.

Disregard, don't let him piss you off. Did you know that fund is Pigboy junky Limbaugh's ghost writer? If you google his name with sex scandal i believe you'd find a story on him that makes you wonder why any network would have him on. don't forget, when you let the wingnuts make you mad, they win!

3. He's a major-league sleazeball...

<snip>
The Wall Street Journal's Resident Pro-Life GOP moralist knocks up his girlfriend's daughter and knew about her abortion but ignored it; Weasel Search is reporting

This is the guy who is so conservative it makes Newt Gingrich look like Ellen DeGeneres (well...almost) and every chance he got he would pound Clinton as immoral for having sex with a younger woman and applaud Bush for restoring dignity to the White House and all those right wing talking points almost daily on national TV.

If this is true: Do you even realize how messed up is to fuck your girlfriends daughter....even if you aren't a right wing wacko? Not to mention that he was 43 at the time and she was just 23! One of their mantras was that Clinton shouldn't have done what he did because of the trust that parents had when they sent their daughters to intern in Washington.

4. A smarmy prig too
It amazes me to think this hypocrite gets on the national news, after all his smarmy tut-tuting during the Clinton-Lewinsky nonsense. Then, he pulls off this knock up your girlfriend's daughter thing. And in no time flat, he was back on the talk shows, smarmy as ever.

5. He was utterly destroyed though
by Paula Zahn. She challenged the outrageousness of his statement.

And the other guy danced on his face.

You should have seen the utter humiliation Arron Brown put two hawks through - presumably people who had argued for the war previously on his show. They where both quiver lipped as they had to publically admit that they had been wroung and that the war was a failure.
