America Should have a Prime Minister
Edited on Tue Aug-12-03 01:58 AM by rusk2003
America should have a Prime Minister and a President with limited powers a President who is a celebrity or famous. excluding businesspeople. someone we can put on our dollars and coins and stamps someone whom is not a politican but above one and the people can look up to and have pride like the British,Swiss,French and etc do. That way we can all stand behind a independant President who would stand for everyone. And who would live in a Palace like most other world leaders not a house. Plus if it was that way the Head of Government would be able to spend time solving problems and not get bothered with affiars of state and not be so wrapped up in foreign policy. THe President could perform the duties of head of state and have a limted role in government.

It could still be democratic the President could appt people to run for Prime Minister and let the people confrim the one they wanted.

What dose everyone thing of that idea.

1. Why does this keep coming up?
What's so wrong with our current form of government? Ostensibly, two of the three branches are elected by the people, and the third branch is selected by our elected representatives. The system SHOULD work, and just needs a few minor tweaks. I'd like to see Representatives limited to two terms, and I'd like to the the Supremes limited to one ten-year term. I'd also like to see protectionist district gerrymandering by BOTH parties ended.

There's nothing wrong with the checks and balances system that a few minor adjustments can't solve.
