This looks like some local station's poll.. Probably no one here even SAW the darned thing, but the freeps were so sure that we were responsible for the results....so to work they went., :silly:

2. I emailed the station
"You have a poll on your home page that has attracted the attention of some really active "ballot-box stuffers".. Why they do this is beyond me, but they make a habit of it, and have even been called out in other publications.. A SanFarncisco paper "outed them" last year..

Just a heads up, in case some people do pay attention to these "highly unscientific" numbers :)

They seem to really get a kick out of skewing results in polls to try and justify their own strange philosophy.."

4. It is amazing how they get excited about manipulating some
Internet poll.

Thanks for emailing the station, SoCalDem.

Like little children in a candy store. So easy to satisfy. I guess their little brains can't understand that the majority of Americans really think that the whole Iraq mess is screwed up. Skewing the facts so they'll fit their beliefs. Nothing new here.

5. I wouldn't get too high up on that horse considering how many
similiar polls you see here with the heading "DU this Poll."
Both sides do it...

And here is the link to that poll.

7. As a rule, DUers vote ONCE..if they vote at all...and
anyone who "says" they voted multiple times, are roundly excoriated when they let it be known here.:)

8. No, DUing a poll means to get as many people as possible to vote
ONCE and only once. I hope DUers don't have multiple personalities and vote forty different times like the freepturds do....that's fucking dishonest, and it's stooping to their level.

9. The difference being of course that we only vote once each!
Please do a search for 'DU this poll' and note what the response is when anyone here tries to explain how to compromise a poll. :)

There is a BIG difference between DUers and freepers.

10. For me the difference is that if I DU a poll, I vote ONCE
Edited on Mon May-24-04 03:08 PM by tandot
I don't have the time to spend all day to manipulate some unimportant Internet poll. I don't even trust those newest Gallup or Zogby polls too much.

We probably have some DUers who try to "reverse" a poll that has been obviously freeped. The nbc10 poll started out with 80% being not satisfied with Bush's policy. This is probably much closer to the truth than the 49% those freepers lowered the poll to.

Even a Republican friend (he always voted Republican) ask what the f*ck is going on with our country and that darn war. I don't think he'll vote for Kerry, but he is extreme dissatisfied with Bush and his policies.

I guess some freepers just can't handle the truth.

6. I e-mailed them too.....
.....sent the following,

Breaking News! The idiots at http://www.freerepublic.com found your poll on Bush's handling of the situation in Iraq and being the deluded types that they are, they decided to "freep" (vote multiple times each) the poll and then brag about it on their site!
You can un-skew the results by applying a filter to eliminate the redundant votes by the IP address that they came from or just dump the results accumulated so far with an apology to your viewers citing the reason the results were compromised!
They're hip to how to dump their "cookies" so I suggest you incorporate an IP address filter in the future.

Thanks for your attention to this matter,
Pat X. XXXXXXXX :)

I just received an 'auto response' message from Drew Salamone, Convergence Manager at NBC10.Com saying that they would be in touch shortly! :bounce:
