Sometimes I pick up one of these old *historic fact???* books. In this case the Britannica - book of the year 1978.
And while reading some of the events I came across the following: Nine-year mystery of missing uranium reported That a 200-ton shipload of uranium ore vanished at sea between Belgium and Italy in 1968 was revealed in stories appearing in two U.S. newspapers and a day later in a speech by former U.S. Senate aide Paul Leventhal. The news stories reported that some American and European intelligence officials believed the uranium had gone to Israel for use in nuclear weapons. On May 5 the European Economic Community officially confirmed the disapearance of the uranium.
Does anyone have some more information in regard to this event?, any follow ups?
Thanks!
