Should the NAACP support the 'War on Terror?' I call it Global Lynching.
I think the economoc draft of the last 30 years has led to the deliberate harvesting of the poor by the military. The NAACP works closely with the Pentagon to ensure equal vet benefits for African Americans. But it also validates the military as a job when civilian life is not available to people of color. I'm afraid it is being used to create a family culture of father and son in uniform doing the dirty work and dying for the empire while they think they're 'defending our freedom' and all the bullshit rhetoric told to troops to get them to kill or be killed.

I read Paul Robeson's biography and agreed with him when he said that African American's shouldn't fight and die for a country that denies them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Hell, they aren't much better off than they were in his day. And getting worse off again rapidly.

This gets personal because I'm of the caucasoidal persuasion and working with an African American band with some ex-members of the official Air Force Symphony Orchestra (that plays all the official White House functions and has a multi-million dollar budget to fly around the world).

They are playing (as retired civilians) for the NAACP's 29th annual tribute to the US military and the 'War on Terror' and I refuse to do it and wrote to the others that should have no part of it either:

"The NAACP's Armed Services and Veteran's Affairs division is now an arm of the DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE used to ensure the efficiency of the ECONOMIC DRAFT that leads people of color into the US death machine for a paycheck since work in civilian life still isn't available.

The 29 years that this military tribute dinner has been going on coincide with the years since the draft ended and the poor have been carefully harvested for use as cheap labor by the US military. This bargain with the devil requires ritual ceremonies, crisp uniforms, brass bands and bunting to create the illusion of FALSE NOBILITY to this tragedy.

The military service foot in the door that once helped bring about desegregation in civilian life has now become a family heirloom passed from father to son for continuity of 'human resource supply' to dominate and kill the poor in other countries without 'any one who matters' back home noticing the human cost beyond the occasional former football star. Tributes become epitaphs in very little time.

The NAACP needs to find the principles of HUMAN RIGHTS SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN THE WAR CRIMINAL US MILITARY. IT IS YOUR ENEMY, NOT FRIEND. DO NOT BE A MERCENARY."
