4. Sorry... cannot stand Fund's smirking face!!!! He is making fun
of all the real concerns about this. And, did he say that Florida had tried to improve elections in 2000??? Hope I heard wrong.
If anybody is going to watch this, please tell me about this.

7. An article from Slate on Mark Seibel:
snip...
How does the Herald justify its undervote-only approach? Mark Seibel, the Herald assistant managing editor who is overseeing the paper's count, says he wanted a "real world" project, which was finding out "what would the result have been" of the Florida Supreme Court-ordered statewide recount "that was stopped." But Lake County officials say they would have included their overvotes in that recount! That "would have been outside the purview of the order," Seibel says. "Overvotes were never an issue in the election" controversy, he declares. True, the U.S. Supreme Court mentioned overvotes. "But," he says, "it's not part of the majority opinion."

"That's on the face of it wrong," counters Alan Murray, the Wall Street Journal's Washington bureau chief. Murray's right. Although Gore (foolishly) never asked to have overvoted ballots recounted, the possibility that they contain valid votes was an issue. Bush's lawyers raised it. The dissenting justices in the Florida Supreme Court raised it. And the U.S. Supreme Court--in the majority opinion--gave the following grounds for overturning the Florida Supreme Court's undervote-centric count:

For better or worse, the battle over the 2000 Florida election still remains with us. Billions of dollars are being spent by states to change their voting-machine systems in order to correct the perceived problems experienced in Florida. Yet much debate still exists over exactly what went wrong in Florida and whether the changes in voting machines will solve the problems or ensure an even worse disaster this November. The conference will feature experts in charge of instituting the new voting machines, academics that have studied these issues, and those responsible for the media recounts.

15. presentations have descended into a morass of statistical overkill
Although I held some hope after the first few (Fund doesn't count) presentations, this is now a demographic analysis of elections past.
