I hate to bring this up, but.............
I worry that Cheney will drop out (for health reasons scoff, scoff) and McCain will join the repub ticket. That would be bad. Real bad.

1. Cheney's not going anywhere. If he dropped out, it would
look like desperation.

Our real problem is that no matter who Kerry picks, it will seem like a second choice for him after all of this McCain nonsense. That's the problem we have to get over for the time being.

2. I understand. Cheney is our "Newt Gingrich." We need him to be...
the boogey man of the bush administration. Too many people still think bush is honest. I don't think as many people are deluded about Cheney.

4. The administration is rotten from the head down
replacing a limb or organ will make no difference.
This election is a referendum on the shrub.
At this point, baring a "medical" problem, replacing Dick will only exasperate *s' leadership problems.
Besides the Dick is in charge and I do believe even he may be afraid of what * might do if left in charge.

5. Then we'd get the chance to debunk the McCain myth once & for all!
McCain is a tried and true repuke. The more he's "examined by the press and the public-at-large" the better!

Dems aren't as scared of McCain as repukes think. After all, he was easily dispatched by BushCo in 2000.

6. Won't happen
If they do and by chance, Bush wins, they give up a senate seat to a Dem, since McCain's replacement would be appointed by a Democratic governor.

Besides, McCain is running for his senate seat this year. Not that stopped Lieberman, though. After the whole Jack Ryan fiasco in Illinois, they need to hold on to whatever seat they have.

If Cheney is replaced, I could see Giuliani or even one of Bush's original choices, Tom (terror alert) Ridge. They might have some problems with their more moderate stances, but could use it to soften the ticket and make it more appealing to the undecided voters.

7. IF Cheney were to drop out...
...I'd look for somebody like Frist to replace him on the ticket. I think McCain would drive boosh's fundie nutjob base absolutely bananas.

9. The only way Cheney would drop out is if he dropped dead.
This talk about Bush dropping Cheney just isn't going to happen.
