I noticed today that the three cable propaganda networks are all doing their little "Countdown to Handover" segments regarding the supposed transfer of sovereignity to the Iraqi interim government.

I was immediately struck by flashbacks to their endless "Making the Case" segments in which the media relentlessly pushed the latest misAdministration talking points for the war, ignoring the talking points of the previous week that had been discredited.

But it's different this time! On one hand, we have the pro-war, pro-occupation Senator John McCain laying out his case for the Occupation. On the other hand, we have the pro-war, pro-Administration Senator Biden laying out his case.. um.. for the Occupation.

Because in the months to follow it will become clear that the war goes on, people still die, whether Iraq is run by Paul Bremer or by a gang of our stooges. Another one of Bushco's lies that will wear pretty thin by November.
