5. Democratic US Senate candidate in Illinois.
An African-American state senator from Chicago. He, along with Harold Ford, could be our 1st Black President. he is the former editor of the Harvard Law Review, is an extremely good orator and a mainstream liberal.

:)

13. Correction
I love Barack Obama as much as the next guy. He is a rising star. However, Obama is not an "African-American" He is, in fact, half-white and was raised by his white mother. He is just as much a white man as a black man. Race aside, he is a brilliant man with an exciting future.

Kerry let it "slip" last week.

Who Will Give the Dems' Keynote? Kerry Lets a Hint Slip
By JODI WILGOREN

Published: June 29, 2004

The Democratic National Committee has not yet announced or, in fact, selected the keynote speaker for its convention in Boston next month, but Senator John Kerry, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, let a hint slip here this morning.

"I cannot wait to hear his voice," Mr. Kerry said of Barack Obama, the Democratic Senate candidate here in Illinois, who became a hot commodity in national political circles after emerging from a crowded primary field this spring. "First at our convention, where he's going to have an opportunity to speak in a few weeks, and then on the floor of the United States Senate."

10. They posted the schedule two days ago...Obama wasn't on it...
...I posted here that he was missing from the list yesterday...and today he's on it.

Maybe it has something to do with Ditka.
