... "Bunnypants" how did Bush* get this nickname?

I've been here for well over a year and I still don't know where this came from. Bunnypants... it cracks me up... I just want to know the history of the term "bunnypants" as it relates to Bush*

websites, etc. would probably lay claim to dubbing *bush as such, but bartcop.com and smirkingchimp.com would be two that leap to mind. there's a photo montage that's been done somewhere out there in the etherworld that has pictures of primates making different faces, with bush's picture right next to the primate's picture, and he's making very close approximations of the primate's facial expressions.

I know where "chimp" came from... but where did "bunnypants" come from?

2. Pete at bartcop coined it shortly after 9-11.

He imagined Bush being rousted from his bed wearing his bunnypants pajamas and the picture stuck like glue.

I always thought it was for hopping to Louisiana then hopping to Nebraska on 9/11.

5. I THINK that's it. Somebody wrote a column about it

and got fired for doing so, after 9/11. The writer had said something to the effect of - bush ran like a bunny rabbit all over the country looking for a place to hide. His editors took offense. Heaven forbid we criticize Our President.

Bush hopping from one rabbit hole to another. But, Bunnypants definitely originated with Pete at bartcop and was definitely about Bush wearing bunnypants pajamas whence rousted by the Secret Service.
