Well, a form letter, but in response to my letters about postponing elections:
Thank you for taking the time to contact me concerning the timing of this year’s federal elections.
As you know, the Department of Homeland Security has been researching laws and precedents concerning the postponement of elections in the United States in the event of a terrorist attack the day before or the day of the November election. This issue arose because of concerns expressed by the Election Assistance Commission.
The United States has held elections in the midst of the Civil War and two World Wars. I do not expect any delay this year and I am not aware of any plans to delay or postpone the November elections.
Thank you once again for contacting me. I value your advice. If I can be of further assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me
