10,000 Dead Fish Wash Ashore In Brevard

Health officials are still trying to determine what caused an estimated 10,000 dead fish to wash up on the Brevard County coastline, according to Local 6 News.


The thousands of Atlantic croaker fish have been found on the beach between Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral over the past few days.

However, they say the fish are washing ashore as quickly as they can pick them up.

But I would guess a natural phenomenon like the cold water upwelling that killed tons of croakers in Maryland this past June.

3. Didn't this just happen a few weeks ago on the Maryland shore?

It involved croaker fish as well. I believe they determined the cause to be "thermal shock". There apparently was a rapid drop in the water temperature.
