Watching Will Pitt's dad on TV.
Alabama public channel.
Redding Pitt is head of Alabama Democratic Party.
Talking about Bush* and the convention.
His "opponent" is some guy I never heard of from the repug side.
I'll try an post some info as it goes along.

1. I saw him on a Birmingham channel last week when
John Edwards was in town. I'm wondering why the heck he is down here when Pitt's family is from PA and Mass (I think).

He's great...very optimistic!

2. Repu going on about Saddam.
Pitt: I don't see the war as positive for anybody. Quoting a general "There's no way we can lose this war and there's no way we can win the aftermath."

We've aleinated the entire moslem world.

Mod: No black delegates to the convention going in. Now they have found 3.
repug: we don't do quotas. not sure many ran for these positions in the first place.
repug is doing the standard bullshit. no rhyme or reason. bs alert.
Mod: would you defend an all white delegation? (He's good.)
repug: no real answer.
Pitt: We elect men and women and blacks and whites. That's just wht we do. It's inclusive. That's why we have more support from blacks.
more to come

4. more
Mod: repug black forum (who?) on record as opposed to same sex marriage.
repug: states rights issues nvolved.
Pitt: (on gay marriage) Huge diff between marriage w/in a church and civil union. Cheney OK with civil union, Bush not. Kerry is.
Mod: can't be a state's right s thing.
repug: like driver's licenses? what? Some repugs don't think you need to mess around with the constitution and some do.
Mod: what do you need to do now?
repug: Bush* had 28 pt. lead in AL. (Big surprise) Mentions French disparagingly
Pitt: Kerry needs to talk asbout Iraq. It didn't take much courage to go into Iraq. Not a war, an occupation. The war started when the occupatin was over. The occ has blown up in their fasce. We need to go after Al Queada, not Iraq.
repuke: just more anti-Kerry bs.

Whew. Maybe I can get a transcrpt tomorrow.
